Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Smith.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The band Bound & Determined was started by Dan Smith almost 10 years ago as an acoustic duo playing local venues around the Kansas City area. After about a year we put together a full band.
Over the years we have had some great musicians come through, and helped us expand and become one of the midwest regions top cover bands winning KC Magazine’s Best of 2023 & 2025 Tribute/Cover Band of the Year, and Missouri’s Best 2026 Hottest Band Winner.
We recently made a trip to Nashville, and now have a label interested in signing the band. Current members are Dan Smith – founder/rhythm guitar/vocals, Krystal Lynn Anderson – Lead Vocals, William Trigg – Lead guitarist, David Lucas – bassist, and Jared Barnes – drummer.
We recently released two songs written by Krystal. “Now It’s Different”, and “One More Shot” are two great songs that show the bands love for both the country and rock genres.
The future is bright for Bound & Determined and it’s members. We can thank our fans enough for continuing to support what we do and the music we play.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always challenges. Members leaving and needing to fill their spots, being on the road and having vehicle problems, equipment issues, etc.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think what sets us apart is our willingness to work hard and everyone in the band being committed to taking a professional, business like approach to what we do.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Just keep learning from those around you. You’re never too old to learn something new. Be prepared for the grind, and don’t ever let the negativity in.
