Hi C’Asia , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Started August 2022 at Johnson County Community College – Esthetics program. After achieving 1500 accredited hours within 8 months. I received a certificate of esthetics. I then took a two-part state board exam and became a licensed Esthetician in Missouri. While building my skincare career, I am continuously furthering my skills by taking educational courses. Like obtaining certificates from Dermalogica on “Treating Melanin-Rich Skin,” Lush Academy “Brow Lamination” plus more!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Staying focused while obtaining my skin and beauty license required dedication, sacrifice, and fearless action. So I’ll say no the road has not been smooth but it’s worth the ride. One struggle during this time was having the confidence to just take the state board exams. I got nervous and doubt filled my head that I rescheduled my exam before even taking it. “What if I make a mistake in my makeup application?” “What if I forget facial massage techniques?” “I am going to fail !” Even with those negative thoughts- I pushed forward and passed both my written and practical board exams on the first try.

I am a spontaneous person that likes to live life to the fullest. Hobbies: event coordinating, traveling, trying new foods, live music and bing watching reality TV shows in my spare time.
