Inspiring Conversations with Bridget Meroney of Erin Rose Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridget Meroney

Hi Bridget, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Erin Rose Boutique was born out of my lifelong passion for fashion! Though I graduated from Rockhurst College with a degree in accounting, I quickly realized that crunching numbers wasn’t my true calling. My love for fashion started early—at 15, I began working at “The Limited,” where my dream of owning a boutique first took root. (Fun fact: I was even voted “Best Dressed” in high school!) As a New Years Resolution in 2023, I decided to challenge myself to follow my dream. I started Erin Rose Boutique as a website in February 2023 with the goal to eventually open a storefront, later that year we opened in October 2023 in North Kansas City, MO. After years of dreaming, I was so thrilled to see Erin Rose Boutique finally come to life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it was definitely not a smooth road & still isn’t. Being a boutique owner is hard work & is constantly on the forefront of your mind, worrying about all the little things & the big things. What’s the saying, “If it were easy, everyone would do it.” I think the biggest challenge for me was social media aspect (I was not as tech savvy as my children). I also had to learn how to swallow my pride ask for help & support. It definitely takes a village. I could not have done it without the love & support of my Husband, Children, Family & Friends. I am so very grateful to all of them!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a woman’s clothing boutique that offers clothing, accessories & small gifts to all sizes (S-3x). At Erin Rose Boutique it is more than just shopping, it is an experience! It is so very important to us to make our customers feel special. We want them to feel their best in whatever they wear & have lots of fun doing it.
They are the reason behind doing what I love. Seeing them happy & light up by what they put on at Erin Rose is such a gift & brings me such joy. Grateful doesn’t begin to describe how I feel to each lady/customer that I help dress.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
What is my favorite childhood memory? There are so many. I remember how much I loved how my Mother tried to make everything so special for us kids. Whether it was having a fashion show with my barbie’s or playing outside in the dirt with her while she gardened. However, my love for shopping started when I was 12-13 yrs old & My Mother created a Christmas tradition of going to the Plaza every year, one on one, to go shopping(I had 3 siblings, so alone time with her was a big deal). We made such wonderful memories every year that will always remain in my heart. I plan on continuing the tradition with my own daughter.
