Inspiring Conversations with Brenna of Kaiserin Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenna

Hi Brenna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m honestly not sure when my love of photography actually started, sometime as a kid when I was a member of 4-H. Over the years I took family, couples, and senior photos but it wasn’t until around 2015 when two of my friends asked me to take boudoir photos for them did I truly find what I loved! At the time I worked full time as a graphic designer but throughout the years I worked more and more on photography. In 2020 I finally took the leap and focused on my photography business!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t know if any business owner has a smooth road. There are so many things to learn along the way. With photography it can sometimes be hard to find the area that you’re really passionate about. It took me a long time before coming across boudoir and realizing that is the area I love most. It can also take a long time to really find your style and learning how to master it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Kaiserin Photography. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Although I still do other sessions like couples or families, my passion really lies with boudoir photography! It’s always fun and I love seeing my clients gain confidence throughout their session. People do boudoir sessions for a lot of different reasons, no matter the reason they initially come into my studio I hope everyone leaves feeling like it was a great gift for themselves. My goal is that every client leaves with me self love than when they started. Everyone deserves to feel confident in their body!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I’ve been in Kansas City for close to ten years now, but I grew up in a very rural area of Kansas. I love that Kansas City still somehow feels like a small town at times but there is always something new to explore.
