Hi Ayesha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all began as an idea in 2019 when I discovered that there was a great need and open market for Cosmetic Surgery Recovery Nurses in Kansas City, Missouri and the surrounding areas.

“I actually started accepting clients in 2020 during the Covid pandemic from the basement of a house that I was renting. Many people were having cosmetic surgery performed at that time with no one to help them heal post operatively because there was no one providing this niche service in Kansas City or the surrounding areas.

In other city’s there is a network in place where the post surgery client is automatically referred to a massage therapist or a Cosmetic Surgery Recovery Nurse for lymphatic drainage massages after surgery; to ensure proper healing and continuity of care.

In these other city’s, where thousands of surgeries are performed daily, the cosmetic surgeon even includes the number of post operative lymphatic drainage massages that the client should receive after surgery, in the discharge instructions.

Unfortunately the surgeons and surgery centers have no network in place in Kansas City and the surrounding areas. Most of their clients find me on their own to continue healing properly after surgery.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been interesting. Currently, I am the only Cosmetic Surgery Recovery Nurse provider in the Kansas City area offering this unique combination of services to men, women, and transgender post operative clients. Although I am providing a need-based service; I am also disrupting a system. My present challenge is creating a partnership network with cosmetic surgeons and surgery centers for referrals to help their clients heal 20 times faster and achieve better-looking results!
