Inspiring Conversations with Audra Heller of Audra Heller & Associates with Real Broker, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audra Heller.

Hi Audra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my real estate career with a move overseas to Australia, where I worked with Greg Norman on a golf course community, followed by a similar role in California. Each move deepened my experience in large-scale development, luxury positioning, and working with diverse markets and teams.

After several years away, I made the decision to return home to Parkville. With a broader perspective and hands on experience across multiple markets, I focused on building a real estate business rooted in strategy, professionalism, and long-term relationships. Bringing everything I’d learned back to the community where it all started.

I started at The National, a brand-new Tom Watson golf course community in Parkville, Missouri. Being part of a ground-up development gave me early exposure to new construction, community planning, and the full lifecycle of a real estate project, from vision to execution.

Today, I lead a well-established real estate business supported by a dedicated team that manages transaction coordination, listing preparation, marketing, and client care. That structure allows me to stay focused on strategy, negotiation, and delivering a seamless experience from start to finish.

Over the years, I’ve built a strong reputation within both the Parkville community and the REALTOR® community. Known for professionalism, consistency, and long-term relationships. My business today reflects the experience I gained early on: thoughtful planning, strong execution, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

When I moved back to Parkville and essentially started from scratch again, my first year was not stellar. Like anyone building a business in a community, you have to re-establish yourself, rebuild relationships, and earn trust all over again. That takes time.

At the same time, I got married and started a family. Time became a very limited resource. I had to learn how to be disciplined, focused, and intentional with my schedule. There wasn’t room for wasted effort. That season forced me to become more efficient and more strategic in how I built my business.

Then 2020 hit. Like everyone else, we didn’t know what would happen. We had to quickly shift processes, adjust how we communicated, and rethink how we served clients. Some of those changes worked extremely well. Some didn’t. And we learned quickly.

Looking back, that period strengthened the business. It forced us to refine systems, improve communication, and operate with more clarity. Learning to adapt, instead of resist, has been one of the most valuable lessons in my career.

Growth hasn’t been accidental. It’s been year-over-year improvement, adjustment, and refinement.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Audra Heller & Associates with Real Broker, LLC?
My business is built on experience, structure, and relationships.

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked across nearly every segment of residential real estate. From new construction and master-planned communities to luxury homes, investment properties, relocation clients, and first-time buyers. I’m licensed as a broker in both Kansas and Missouri and hold designations including Certified Residential Specialist, Luxury Homes Specialist, and Relocation Specialist.

But credentials only tell part of the story.

What truly sets my business apart is how it operates. I’ve built a structured support system around the client experience. From listing preparation and marketing to transaction management and communication, so nothing falls through the cracks. That infrastructure allows me to stay focused on strategy, negotiation, and guiding clients through high-level decisions with clarity.

I love numbers. They tell a story. I consistently provide market data and insight to both buyers and sellers so they can make educated, confident decisions. Real estate is emotional, but it should also be informed.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my business is known for putting people first. It’s relationship-driven, not transaction-driven. I believe in generosity, with time, attention, and resources, and that shows up in how I serve clients and the community.

I’m deeply committed to giving back locally. I serve on the board of Hillcrest Platte County, a transitional housing program for the homeless, the Parkville Economic Development Council, and I’m a member and past president of the Parkville Chamber of Commerce. Community involvement isn’t an add-on, it’s part of the brand.

At the end of the day, what I want readers to know is this: my business is built on trust, preparation, and thoughtful guidance. I’m here for the long-term relationship, not just the next closing.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I would describe myself as a moderate risk-taker. And I’m comfortable stepping into situations that stretch me.

Moving to Australia on my own in my 20’s was a significant leap. I didn’t know anyone there, and I was stepping into a completely new market and culture. Later, I made a similar move to California for another development opportunity. Both decisions required confidence and a willingness to grow quickly.

While living in Australia, I also sailed competitively with an all-male crew. I was the only female on the boat. That environment demanded resilience, teamwork, and the ability to hold your own under pressure. Sailing teaches you quickly that you can’t control the wind, only how you adjust the sails. That mindset has stayed with me.

To me, risk isn’t about recklessness. It’s about evaluation and adaptability. You assess the conditions, understand the variables, and make the best decision with the information you have. Sometimes you tack. Sometimes you hold your line.

In business and in life, I believe thoughtful risk, paired with preparation, is often where growth happens.
