Inspiring Conversations with Anna Huff of Midwest Social Creative

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Huff.

Hi Anna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
If you’d have asked me ten years ago if this is where I saw myself today – I’d have probably laughed. I was just beginning my career in education and having my own business was not at all in the sights. My friends are the reason I started a blog over seven years ago and that blog is why I started Midwest Social Creative. After blogging for several years, I developed a passion for planning and creating content. Today, I help creative entrepreneurs, personal brands and small businesses grow through blogging and Pinterest. It’s like my two worlds – blogging and business – collided and have formed this awesome sweet spot for me to share what I’ve learned about content creation and planning with business owners looking to scale their brands.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business is kind of like standing at the alter with your future spouse. You’ve got lots of energy, passion, and excitement for what’s to come – but when you look back ten years later, you realize you had not even a fraction of a clue what you were doing. It’s kinda like that. Along the way, I have struggled with creating boundaries and systems that protected both me and my business. I learned the hard way that success isn’t defined by the monthly revenue you bring in – but rather how you are able to create a life that you love. I’ve had to learn from my mistakes and get back up and keep moving forward. I’ve felt like quitting, and I’ve felt like an imposter. It’s a journey – not a destination.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Midwest Social Creative, we value relationships and know how they are the heartbeat of your business.

We help creative entrepreneurs and personal brands build connections with their community through blogging and Pinterest marketing. In short, what we do is provide our clients with a unique blend of content strategy, SEO, and Pinterest – and that is what sets us apart from other content marketers.

What we do is different because we give you the tools to give a curated, personal touch to your content. We work with you to make it equal parts entertaining, inspiring, and informative. All while ensuring it is practical and optimized for search engines discoverability.

We are proud of the fact that we have woven together the personal touch of lifestyle and the strategy of content marketing to bring our clients this perfectly blended signature approach.

Because we also know that not all businesses are created equally, we provide done for you, done with you, and a signature group program so you can find the best fit for your business.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Authenticity (I know it’s totally been overused but I have to say it). Authenticity will get you a long way if you just allow yourself to show up as the truest and most genuine form of you. This is the key to making connections, building trust and curating a community around your business.
