Inga Volegov of Sedalia MO on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Inga Volegov and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Inga, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me right now starts with getting my kids ready for school in the morning. After that, I see my morning clients at the salon. Around lunchtime, I usually make lunch for my husband, and in the afternoon I pick the kids up from school. In the evenings, I either take care of my evening clients or spend time with my family.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My journey into the world of permanent makeup is deeply personal—it started with my own need for confidence and time-saving beauty solutions and grew into a passion for helping others feel the same.

As a mother of four and the owner of two businesses, my life is constantly busy. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find time for yourself when you’re balancing so many responsibilities. Like many women, I wanted to look put together and feel confident, but spending extra time on daily makeup just wasn’t an option.

That’s when I truly saw the value of permanent makeup. Even though I personally have PMU on just one area, I immediately understood how life-changing it could be for busy women like me. The idea of waking up looking fresh and polished without the daily effort felt like a gift—one that I wanted to share with others.

I had always been passionate about beauty, but discovering PMU as a way to help women reclaim their time and confidence made me realize this was my true calling. I dedicated myself to learning everything I could—taking courses, practicing tirelessly, and refining my techniques to ensure the best results for my clients.

Over time, I built a loyal client base, not just because of the quality of my work, but because I genuinely care about the women who sit in my chair. I specialize in powder brows, lip blushing, and lash liner, always focusing on enhancing natural beauty in a way that is both subtle and transformative.

Today, I’m grateful to be doing what I love—helping busy women simplify their routines, feel confident, and embrace their natural beauty. What started as a personal realization has turned into a mission to support and empower others, and I couldn’t be happier about it. My goal is to continue growing, perfecting my craft, and making a positive impact in the beauty industry.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The person who saw me clearly before I could see myself was my husband. We’ve been together since high school, so he has known me through so many stages of life and from every angle. He always recognized my strengths and reminded me of what I was capable of, even at times when I doubted myself. His unwavering belief in me has been my foundation, and without his support I wouldn’t be where I am today.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was sad or scared as a child, I always turned to prayer. Talking to God gave me peace, strength, and a sense that I was never alone. That faith has stayed with me and continues to guide me through life’s challenges.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the beauty industry is the idea that there’s a single standard of beauty everyone should strive for. So much of the industry feels unified around creating the same look, as if individuality should be erased. I don’t believe in that. To me, true beauty comes from embracing what makes each person unique. My work is about highlighting someone’s natural features, not forcing them to fit into a template. When individuality shines, that’s when confidence and real beauty appear.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
I think the biggest regret I would have is not sharing my knowledge. That’s why I take education so seriously—not only for my clients but also for other artists. Before every procedure, I spend time explaining the process and every detail, because I want my clients to feel informed and confident. And looking ahead, I would love to share my experience with other professionals as well. Knowledge is meant to be passed on, and I believe that by teaching and guiding others, I can leave a lasting impact beyond my own work.
