Hi Trey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a founder, my journey with Suite Portal started long before the company existed. In two different organizations, I personally built proprietary portals on top of NetSuite – each time reinventing the wheel to solve the same core problem: businesses needed a clean, scalable way to share NetSuite data with customers, vendors, and employees, but the process was always expensive, complex, and fragile. After building these solutions internally, I realized this wasn’t just an isolated need—it was a gap across the entire NetSuite ecosystem. Suite Portal was born out of that realization: a product built from real experience, proven pain points, and a genuine desire to simplify what has historically been hard.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges in bringing Suite Portal to life was overcoming the complexity of NetSuite integrations themselves. Companies underestimate how difficult it is to build a secure, scalable portal on top of an ERP—there are data-model limitations, performance constraints, nuances with roles & permissions, and the constant risk of building something that only partially solves the problem. I had to navigate all of that while ensuring Suite Portal remained simple for the end user. Balancing technical depth with usability, and transforming something traditionally custom-built into a repeatable, multi-tenant platform, was a real obstacle – but it’s also what makes Suite Portal stand apart.
