Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Wolff.
Hi Teresa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Over the last 20 years, I have owned and operated three businesses (TC Bookkeeping Solutions is my fourth!), successfully handling day-to-day operations while overseeing bookkeeping tasks. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable insight into the challenges small business owners face when it comes to maintaining accurate financial records. I served for five years as a bookkeeper, managing the financial operations for a diverse range of small to medium-sized businesses within a global software company. I hold a Bachelor of General Studies in Communications with a Minor in Business from the University of Kansas, and have earned several industry-recognized certifications.
I’ve been a hair stylist for 25 years, working for myself for the past 20. I also owned and operated a venue here in Lawrence where we hosted weddings and other various events before we sold in 2022.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not! LOL I have failed and succeeded along the way. Owning a business is not easy! I had to find out how to survive during the pandemic when I owned two businesses that were shut down for periods of time. Starting each one brought new stresses that I had to overcome. How to market, how to budget, etc. I guess I like the challenge.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business partner and I met at the last company we worked for. We connected right away and just new that we could do more and better! In January 2025, we started TC Bookkeeping Solutions. We are very proud to be women business owners helping any small business owner. We feel we could truly help and understand because we have been in their shoes.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I’d say my experiences have really taught me resilience, a strong work ethic, and the importance of not giving up—even if those qualities kind of overlap. I’ve had my share of both successes and failures, but I’ve always kept moving forward. I’ve learned that failures aren’t something to avoid or ignore—they’re actually some of the most valuable lessons you can get. One of my favorite quotes is “Small business isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s for the brave, the patient, and the persistent. It’s for the overcomer.”
