Hidden Gems: Meet Stacy Arnone of Changing Ace Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Arnone.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Changing Ace Boutique three years ago. I had been a stay-at-home mother of four, and my oldest was entering her senior year of high school as my youngest of the four was entering kindergarten. I wanted to find myself outside of being a mother and wife.

I have always loved and admired small businesses and mostly loved to shop for clothing. So, Changing Ace Boutique was created. The past three years haven’t been easy, my first year in business, I packed up and joined any pop-up I could just trying to get my name out. In February 2020, I landed in a collective storefront with Sincerely Ellis located in the West Bottoms here in Kansas City. Just a month later we were forced to close temporarily due to the pandemic.

I knew it wasn’t going to be easy and I definitely shed lots of tears, but I continued to push forward and continue to try and grow my business. I knew my children were watching, and I wanted them to know you have to work hard for the things you love and are passionate about. Fast forward three years later, I’m still pushing to learn and grow my business. I couldn’t have done it without the support from my husband, friends, and family.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, as stated before the pandemic took a toll on myself and my business, I have also struggled to find balance as I have been a one-person shop, from doing all the clothing orders to all social media post, website work, the one modeling all the clothing, you name it. But I remind myself daily hard work will pay off with time and patience.

We’ve been impressed with Changing Ace Boutique, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Changing Ace Boutique is an online clothing boutique and is also available through the collective storefront located inside Sincerely Ellis. Changing Ace Boutique specializes in trendy clothing and accessories.

I have loved meeting so many amazing women and being able to help them look and feel confident. Being a member of the collective store has also created a sisterhood of women-owned businesses and supporting each other and cheering each other on has been a blessing.

How do you think about happiness?
Being able to show my kids to chase their dreams and never allow anyone to stop you. In today’s world, there are a lot of uncertainties and a lot of change. But with faith, family, and the will we will all get through it. Building a business/brand isn’t easy but the fight is.
