Hidden Gems: Meet Shamicka Ghee of Her Legacy In Motion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shamicka Ghee.

Hi Shamicka, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has been anything but traditional, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I grew up in Lawrenceville, Virginia, served in the Army, built a career in federal security, became a single mother, and eventually bought my first home. Closing day should have been one of the happiest moments of my life, but I remember walking into that empty house alone. There was no celebration waiting for me, just a set of keys and the quiet realization that I had built something my daughters and I could finally call our own.

That experience changed me.

It taught me that rebuilding doesn’t always look glamorous. Sometimes it looks like showing up when you’re tired, choosing discipline over comfort, and continuing to believe in yourself even when life doesn’t go according to plan.

Over the years, I’ve rebuilt more than once. Every season taught me something different about resilience, faith, finances, health, and purpose. Eventually, I realized that so many women were carrying similar stories. On the outside they looked successful, but behind the scenes they were exhausted, overwhelmed, or trying to figure out how to create a life they didn’t need a vacation from.

That realization became the foundation for Her Legacy In Motion.

Today, my mission is to help women rebuild their lives through finances, peace, health, purpose, and discipline. Whether that means creating an additional income stream through the travel industry, building healthier habits, or simply believing in themselves again, I want women to know they are not behind, they are not finished, and it’s never too late to build a life they’re proud of.

Alongside my work as a federal professional, I’m committed to building a movement that reminds women one simple truth: rebuilding isn’t starting over, it’s building stronger with everything you’ve learned.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest challenge wasn’t a single event, it was learning to rebuild through multiple seasons of life while raising two daughters. There were times when I had to navigate career changes, financial uncertainty, and the pressure of trying to be everything for everyone. Like many women, I spent years checking the boxes of success while realizing I still needed to prioritize my own peace, health, and purpose.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that resilience isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about continuing to move forward, asking for help when you need it, and being willing to reinvent yourself when life changes. Those experiences shaped not only who I am, but also the mission behind Her Legacy In Motion.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Her Legacy In Motion was created from the belief that rebuilding your life isn’t about becoming someone new, it’s about becoming more of who you were created to be.

Our mission is to help women rebuild their lives through five foundational areas: finances, peace, health, purpose, and discipline. I believe lasting transformation happens when those areas work together, not in isolation. Many women are successful in one area of life while quietly struggling in another, and I wanted to create a community where they could grow without feeling like they had to have everything figured out first.

What sets Her Legacy In Motion apart is that we don’t focus on quick fixes or overnight success. We focus on sustainable growth through intentional daily habits, practical education, and genuine community. Whether someone is looking to improve their financial situation, develop healthier routines, reconnect with their purpose, or create an additional stream of income through the travel industry, our goal is to help them move forward with confidence.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that Her Legacy In Motion is growing into more than a business, it’s becoming a movement. Everything we create, from content and community to future journals, workshops, and educational resources, is designed to remind women that they are never too far behind to rebuild.

I want readers to know that no matter what season they’re in, rebuilding is possible. You don’t have to change your entire life overnight. Sometimes the most powerful transformation begins with one intentional decision, one healthy habit, and one courageous step forward.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is helping people realize that rebuilding is always possible.

I believe our circumstances don’t have to define our future. Every challenge I’ve experienced has strengthened my faith, my resilience, and my desire to serve others.

My daughters inspire me every day to live with integrity, courage, and purpose. I want them to see what it looks like to continue growing, learning, and showing up even when life isn’t perfect.

I also believe financial freedom is about more than money. It’s about having choices, peace of mind, and the ability to spend your life doing work that aligns with your values. If I can help another woman believe in herself and take one step toward rebuilding her own life, then I’m doing exactly what I’m meant to do.
