Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Green-Singer.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When Bryan and I started Lavender Springs Behavioral Health,(2018) it came from a simple but powerful belief: people deserve access to highly trained professionals, no matter where they live. We had both seen how hard it can be for someone—especially in rural areas or underserved communities—to find the right support. Too often, people go without care, not because they don’t want it, but because the system makes it difficult to reach.
We wanted to change that. Together, we built Lavender Springs to be a place where access, quality, and compassion come together. We worked hard to credential with major insurers, partner with Medicaid in Kansas and Missouri, and open doors to Veterans and others who often feel left out of traditional systems. Telehealth became a natural part of our mission—breaking down barriers so clients could connect with care wherever they are.
Our mission is simple: to make it easier for people to find skilled, compassionate professionals who can walk alongside them in their journey of healing and growth. Every client matters. Every story matters. And every step toward better mental health matters.
Lavender Springs isn’t just a business to us—it’s our way of making sure no one feels like help is out of reach.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have encountered significant challenges related to credentialing and contracting with insurance providers, often facing delays of several months or even years before our providers could begin serving clients or receive compensation. The COVID-19 pandemic further tested our operations, as we had already adapted to offering telehealth services. That year, we facilitated over 400 appointments, and in 2021, we committed to expanding our practice. During this period, we navigated the ongoing changes in Medicaid policies across three states and addressed the unique barriers faced by both rural and urban communities, ensuring access to quality mental health care for all.
At times, referral rates slowed, prompting us to evaluate whether our efforts aligned with our vision for the practice. We have worked to refine our marketing strategies, communicate our mission effectively, and build trust within spaces that are often challenging for mental health professionals to distinguish themselves.
Like many in this field, we balance compassionate client care with the demands of business management, which includes late nights, difficult decisions, and unforeseen sacrifices.
Each obstacle has strengthened our resolve and reaffirmed our purpose: to create a welcoming environment where individuals can access highly trained, compassionate mental health professionals without unnecessary barriers. Lavender Springs is committed to transforming adversity into an opportunity to advance our mission and serve our community.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Lavender Springs Behavioral Health LLC?
What we do & what we specialize in:
At Lavender Springs, we provide evidence-based therapy that meets people where they are. We specialize in working with individuals navigating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), ADHD, neurodivergence, personality disorders, and substance use disorders. These are often complex areas of mental health where clients need more than surface-level support—they need professionals who are trained, compassionate, and committed to walking through the hard work with them.
What sets us apart:
We combine high-level clinical training with accessibility. Through telehealth, credentialing with major insurance panels, and partnerships with Medicaid in Kansas and Missouri, we’ve removed many of the barriers that keep people from care. Unlike some practices, we don’t just provide therapy; we provide options—referrals, insurance coverage, and therapists who understand the unique needs of both rural and urban communities.
What we’re most proud of, brand-wise:
We’re proud that Lavender Springs is known as a place of access and excellence. Our brand reflects not just professionalism, but also warmth and authenticity. People know us for the way we care about our community, for holding high ethical standards, and for making therapy approachable and stigma-free.
What we want you to know:
Our mission is simple: to bring access to highly trained professionals who can help people heal, grow, and thrive. Every challenge we’ve faced since starting has reminded us why this work matters—because on the other side of those obstacles are people who finally find the care they’ve been searching for. Lavender Springs Behavioral Health isn’t just about therapy sessions; it’s about creating a safe, reliable, and accessible space for change.
