Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Feltz.
Hi Nicole, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey began as a foster child, and those early experiences shaped who I am today. Growing up, I learned the importance of perseverance, faith, and the impact one caring person can make in someone’s life.
During college, I started working for American Family Insurance as a file clerk. I didn’t know it at the time, but that small beginning would set the foundation for my future. Over the years, I grew into roles in underwriting and as an analyst—each step teaching me more about the business and about people.
When I was offered the chance to become an agent, I hesitated. I didn’t see myself as a salesperson. But someone once told me, “If you focus on educating and genuinely helping people, success will follow.” That advice changed everything. I realized this career wasn’t about selling—it was about serving, supporting, and protecting families through every chapter of their lives.
What drew me most to American Family was its deep commitment to community. It gave me a platform to make a real difference and the opportunity to give back—especially to foster kids, a cause that will always be close to my heart. Every day, I’m reminded that where you start doesn’t define where you’ll go—it’s the people you help along the way who truly shape your story.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
HAHAH!!! Definitely not!
It’s been anything but smooth. I went through a divorce while trying to build my business and form new relationships in Kansas City—all while juggling a thousand things at once and striving to be a rockstar mom. I wanted my clients to feel genuinely cared for and my family to always know they were my top priority.
Finding that balance was one of the biggest challenges of my life. But through it, I learned grit, resilience, focus, and grace under pressure. Those experiences shaped me into not only a stronger businesswoman but also a more compassionate person—someone who truly understands the importance of showing up for others, even when life feels heavy.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Nicole Feltz Agency – American Family Insurance?
If I had to sum up what we do, it’s this: we help families and businesses protect what matters most. Our agency specializes in home, auto, life, and business insurance—but what truly sets us apart is the care and connection we bring to every client relationship.
We don’t just write policies; we show up when it matters most. Whether that means picking someone up on the side of the road, visiting a family after a tornado, or guiding a client through a difficult claim, our team is there every step of the way to help them get back on their feet.
What I’m most proud of is that our office genuinely knows our clients—their milestones, their families, their celebrations, and even their challenges. The Nicole Feltz Agency is deeply rooted in community involvement, especially supporting local charities that uplift women and children. That mission is personal to me, given my own background, and it’s one shared by our entire team of strong, compassionate women who believe in making a difference—both inside and outside the office.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck—I believe in hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Success doesn’t just happen; it’s built one day, one decision, and one act of courage at a time.
When things get tough, that’s where character is built. You show up, you push forward, and you keep going even when no one’s watching. That’s where the real magic happens—not in luck, but in the relentless determination to turn challenges into opportunities.
I also believe that the people you surround yourself with matter more than anything. Having a tribe that encourages you, challenges you, and believes in your vision can change everything. Success isn’t about luck—it’s about heart, hustle, and the people who help you keep going when the road gets hard.
