Hidden Gems: Meet Mikayla Jacobs of Cherry Blossom Botanicals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikayla Jacobs.

Mikayla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Cherry Blossom Botanicals began with a simple belief: the products we use every day should be made with intention, care, and ingredients we can feel good about.
Founded by Mikayla and Ariel, Cherry Blossom Botanicals grew from a shared desire to create natural, sustainable alternatives to everyday personal care and household products. We wanted to offer products that prioritize thoughtfully selected ingredients while bringing a little more simplicity and intention into everyday routines.
What began as a passion for creating cleaner, more mindful products has grown into a small business dedicated to making handcrafted goods in-house, in small batches, with attention to every detail. From our soaps and body butters to our salt scrubs, tallow products, hair care, and household essentials, each product reflects our commitment to quality and our belief that taking care of yourself and your home can be both simple and luxurious.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opening a business in this current economy was a major leap of faith. Most households do not have the excess income to purchase specialty products. With that in mind, we wanted to make sure our products were attainable to all consumers without breaking the bank.
The road has also been filled with many “mistakes”. Making products that are both healthy and sustainable takes research, countless hours and a good deal of trial and error to create the perfect recipe.
I definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of my family and friends. My husband is the unsung hero of the operation. There is never a day he doesn’t help with events, making products, or just reassuring me that I can do anything I put my mind to.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Cherry Blossom Botanicals ?

We carefully source ingredients, including natural oils and dried herbs, and incorporate natural colorants and cosmetic-grade essential oils into our products. We also strive to minimize unnecessary plastics throughout our production process, keeping sustainability in mind as we continue to grow.
As our business has grown, so has our community. Through online sales, local markets, and vendor events, we have had the opportunity to connect with customers who share our appreciation for handcrafted products and more intentional living. Every purchase, conversation, and returning customer reminds us why we started.
At Cherry Blossom Botanicals, we believe that small choices can make a meaningful difference. Our mission is to create thoughtfully crafted products that bring natural goodness, comfort, and a touch of everyday luxury into your life.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
First, Just go for it! You don’t have to have it all figured out on Day 1. You will never know how to do something until you begin. You can put in months of planning, research and second guessing yourself, but you’ll never know until you start. Start small- all you can do is grow!

Second, you don’t have to have the nicest setup, the finest equipment, or the most expensive packaging. Provide quality products/services and you will grow. You don’t have to have a massive investment up front, invest wisely and it will pay off in the long run. Give yourself permission to be a beginner. You don’t need to build a huge, successful business overnight. You need to build a foundation that gives your business a chance to grow.

Finally, celebrate the little wins, learn from the hard days, and don’t give up simply because your timeline looks different from someone else’s. You can’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Everyone started somewhere. A successful business isn’t built in a day, it’s built through hundreds of decisions, mistakes, possibilities and moments of trust.
