Hidden Gems: Meet Marques Bello of BBI CLEANING SERVICES

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marques Bello.

Hi Marques, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My story starts with my grandfather or as I referred to him Pappaw. He started Mid-City Janitorial Service in 1963 and stayed in business for 33 years. The company started in Springfield, MO, and cleaned offices in that area. Mid-City also cleaned 75% of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. So I and my siblings would go and see our Nannaw (grandmother) and Pappaw every summer in Springfield, MO. I can recall going down there when I was 7 years old and that’s where my work ethic started. My Nannaw and Pappaw had 8 children. That summer we started helping our uncles clean buildings. 1st summer we started dumping ashtrays and pulling trash. I couldn’t wait till next summer to hang with my uncles and start my summer duties.

Every year we would get duties added to the previous summer. As I grew to become an adult, I figured out that my Nannaw and Pappaw were teaching us discipline, respect, and work ethic. My Nannaw was the secretary of Mid-City, so during the day stayed around the office with her. But I took what I learned there and used it to start BBI CLEANING SERVICES in Murfreesboro, TN. We (me and my wife) started there offering cleaning of food trucks, construction clean-up, office cleaning, and window cleaning services. We started with the name Bellos Better Image in 2021. After almost a year in business and success in our eyes starting up, we rebranded to BBI CLEANING SERVICES. Now we have relocated to the Kansas City, MO area to bring our outstanding services here.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been some ups and downs. Not being from Middle Tennessee was rough. The reason being is that not knowing anyone or having any family there. So we had to rely on each other, which I have to give credit to my wife and my sons.

My wife started to get on FB and tell me where networking events were happening. I call her my CEO of assistants (lol) she was a and still is a big help, that helped launch BBI. I don’t think any road is smooth trying to establish a business and be successful or working a corporate job trying to get to the top.

As you know, we’re big fans of BBI CLEANING SERVICES. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We offer food truck deep cleans, general janitorial service, and window cleaning service as well. My personal favorite is window cleaning, to me, I think you get an instant reaction with window cleaning. I enjoy all the services we offer, windows are my favorite.

Food trucks I enjoy too and I believe food trucks to be the new serge for eating establishments. Do they have to be deep cleaned just like a restaurant would so why not let BBI offer our great cleaning service?

What do you think about luck?
No luck, just confidence, discipline, and hard work. Staying consistent also.
