Hidden Gems: Meet Kevin Holmes of The Holmes Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Holmes.

Hi Kevin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My passion for Real Estate started when I began flipping houses. I loved all the hands-on work that it took to take something old and make it great. I then found myself becoming interested in the business side of flipping houses and decided to quit my corporate job and jump in full-time. I worked hard to learn the in’s and out’s of buying and selling homes. The passion for my job keeps growing. I love being a business owner and truly love being able to help others. I have had a lot of support over the years and I can ultimately thank my family for continuing to support my business and myself.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a realtor is much more than just “selling or buying houses,” it is a GRIND day in and day out. That is something I have had to really get used to. The phone doesn’t just ring with new clients. You have to go out and get it! You have to build relationships with your clients and realize that the home buying process can be very emotional. Business has gotten smoother over the years now that more referrals are coming my way. I am very thankful for that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I own a small real estate team in Kansas City. I have two agents that work for me here. I also have an expansion team in St. Louis with two agents there. I am most proud when my clients are happy. We have a 5-star rating and take great pride in this. It’s all about our clients.

What were you like growing up?
I was a busy kid. I was always a huge sports fan and grew up going to many St. Louis Cardinals games. You could always find me outside fishing, golfing or playing baseball. I became very interested in the stock market and actually started investing in it at the age of 12. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur.
