Hidden Gems: Meet Joseph Quero of ActionCOACH

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Quero.

Joseph Quero

Hi Joseph, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I got married to my childhood crush at 18 years old, two years into marriage, we already had two daughters. I made it my aim to provide for them in ways that I wasn’t provided for as a child. I grew up very poor with migrated parents from France & the Phillippines.

Since my wife and I began low income, I went on an entrepreneurial journey to make as much money as I could to give my family the life I never had. Unfortunately, my lack of business experience and “get rich quick” mentality led to me starting and failing eight business ventures.

I worked for a Chimney, Air Duct, & Dryer Vent Cleaning company for several years – and believed it was finally time to move on and launch my own field. This is what birthed Absolute Duct & Chimney Cleaning, Inc. By this point, my wife was fed up and told me to find professional help if I was going to start another business venture.

We were recommended by Coach Karie Kaufmann, a certified business Coach from ActionCOACH, the #1 Coaching Franchise in the world. Coach Karie was exactly what I needed. She helped me navigate the complexities of business ownership and helped me systemize my business so that it could work without me. I went from being a one-man show to having a fully functioning one. The success of the business attracted several buyers. In 2021, I decided to sell Absolute and my family from San Diego, CA, all the way to Kansas City, MO.

This is where my journey began to become a business coach myself. Inspired by her mentorship, I made the decision to pay it forward and help other entrepreneurs as an ActionCOACH myself. So, I got certified and joined her team. I now Coach clients all around the world virtually and in person in both San Diego, CA & Kansas City.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
One struggle was moving my family from San Diego, CA, all the way to Kansas City, MO, and starting fresh. Not only did we have to navigate that change as as family, being away from our loved ones, but I also I had to get out and meet new people to help grow my business.

I networked like crazy until I made the right connections and gained the trust of locals. I’m still networking! Always looking for new opportunities to connect with others. I’m currently president of my BNI Chapter, so shout out to BNI Fast & Furious!

As you know, we’re big fans of ActionCOACH South Kansas City. For our readers who might not be as familiar with the brand, what can you tell them about it?
ActionCOACH South Kansas City is a franchise from ActionCOACH, the world’s #1 business coaching franchise. Our vision is “World abundance through business re-education.”

I specialize in coaching both small and executive businesses. I offer my services in 1:1 Coaching, Group Coaching, and Personalized Team Training. I also host monthly workshops that are available for business owners to attend and quarterly GrowthCLUB events! This is a great opportunity for business owners to take time and invest in their businesses and grow in both knowledge and community.

What sets me apart as a business coach is that I was a client myself before I became a coach. I was coached for 5 YEARS before I became an ActionCOACH. I know the personal struggles complexities, and challenges that we face as a business owner and I truly believe in the ActionCOACH business model, formulas, and strategies that ActionCOACH uses to help advance their clientele, because I can attest first hand that it worked for me.

I also have personal trade experience from my former company that I sold, Absolute Duct & Chimney Cleaning. This helps me coach contractors and trade companies from a real-life perspective.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Through all the lessons I’ve learned, the most important one yet was to always put God first. Put Him first in my marriage, in my family, in my business, and in my personal life. That everything I do here on earth is for Him and His glory alone, and whatever I do outside of that and for personal gain or ego will not matter in light of eternity.

It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of success and money in the business world, but it won’t amount to anything if I don’t use it for my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
