Hidden Gems: Meet Joseph Hammer of Fantastic Memories Travel and Mouse Master Travel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Hammer.

Hi Joseph, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I first started as a travel agent specializing in Disney destinations in 2019. My love for Disney started in 2012 when I went on my senior spring break trip in high school with my friends. Since then, I have become an annual pass holder and started going multiple times yearly. I enjoyed it so much that I became a travel agent to help other families experience the magic of a Disney vacation. Most recently, I leaped into other travel and expanded my business to include non-Disney travel. No matter where people want to go, I want to help families have long-lasting experiences together.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely could have been a smoother road. COVID-19 produced many challenges for me and others in this business. Travel in 2020 was nearly nonexistent. However, I knew that travel would come back eventually, so I decided to take that time to complete training and improve the foundation of my business. COVID-19 also changed the way people travel. Families are not booking as far out as before, and flexible cancelation policies are much more important.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Fantastic Memories Travel and Mouse Master Travel? What should we know?
I am a travel agent with Fantastic Memories Travel and Mouse Master Travel. Fantastic Memories Travel is the parent company that books all non-Disney travel. Mouse Master Travel is a subsidiary of Fantastic Memories Travel, where I book all Disney-related travel.

What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for?
I am best known for specializing in Disney destinations. That includes Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, and Adventures by Disney. Aulani is a Disney resort in Hawaii that offers amazing resort vacations that are not in a theme park. Adventures by Disney offers group travel to places worldwide with the amazing Disney quality you know and love. I most recently expanded into non-Disney travel as well. I can book non-Disney cruises, all-inclusive, regular hotel rooms at most destinations, and much more!

What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others is that I take the time to understand what my clients want and how to get them an amazing vacation package that fits their budget. I also take the time to collaborate with my clients and help create a personalized itinerary.

What are you most proud of brand-wise?
I am very excited about the new website that I recently debuted! DRR Designs was the company I used to help me create my website, and they did an amazing job creating amazing visuals for my brand. I have a site for my non-Disney travel and a linked page for my Disney destinations travel services.

What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc.?
These are the most important things I want people to know about my services:

1. Budget-friendly- I will collaborate on a vacation package that fits your family’s needs and budget. Disney has such a nice payment plan. All you need is a $200 deposit plus any insurance you add to secure the room on a Disney Theme Park vacation package. Payment must be paid in full 30 days before check-in. Therefore, the earlier you book, the longer you must pay off your vacation in installments.
2. Open Communication- During your vacation, I will be just a short call or text away! I am happy to answer any questions for you before, during, and after your trip (a perk of having a travel agent!) Let me know if any problems arise, and I will help solve them for you.
3. Thorough Personalized Planning-There will be an initial planning session to discuss park reservations and any dining reservations you may want me to book. Also, there will be a final planning session close to the beginning of your trip, where we will discuss last-minute details and go over each day’s plans. We will also discuss utilizing Genie+, Disney’s new service, to help reduce your wait times. During the planning session, we will also go through the My Disney Experience app, and I will walk you through how to use it to your advantage.
4. My services are FREE when you book a vacation package for the theme parks (hotel and park tickets), a Disney Cruise Line vacation, a vacation at one of the other Disney destinations, or a vacation at many other destinations.
