Hidden Gems: Meet Jake Dickey of Captain’s Sports Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Dickey.

Hi Jake, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
In 2013, my friend Josh and I saw the need for a local hangout in our hometown, Lake Lotawana. An opportunity arose, and we took the plunge! Finding great success and having too much fun along the way, we decided to expand the brand to Grain Valley in 2021. Quickly after that, we launched our third location in Kansas City North and have a Warrensburg location opening this summer.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been relatively smooth so far?
It has been a challenging road. Opening any new business has many complex demands, but operating during and after Covid has presented unique challenges. Being fluid and flexible was our most significant strength during that time, and we wouldn’t have made it through without our fantastic staff and the never-ending support of our community.
