Hidden Gems: Meet Hannah Metzger of Hannah’s Healing Handzzz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Metzger.

Hi Hannah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I always thought I wanted to be a nurse. I went to college and applied for nursing school, got accepted, and was not successful. In 2020, during a pandemic, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, so naturally, when everyone is trying to avoid each other, I wanted to be closer to people. I started massage school in September 2020 and graduated in January 2021. I started working for a corporate chain and met a coworker who was starting his own business. I decided that is something I wanted to pursue. So I did my research and then Hannah’s Healing Handzzz was born! I have owned my own business for about 3 years and absolutely love everything about it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was never fully smooth, mostly because I don’t have many family members that own their own business. I had to “figure out” things on my own. For example, bringing in clientele, advertising, taxes, products to order. Luckily, my accountant has been incredibly helpful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Hannah’s Healing Handzzz?
I offer a safe space for all persons to come and pamper themselves with a massage. I am best known for my deep pressure work. I also possess a skill that few massage therapists have, which is Lypossage. This includes the ability to move fat, I cannot get rid of fat. That is liposuction and I am not licensed to do that. Lypossage uses the lymphatic system of the body to move fat and filter fluids using the genitourinary system. I am most proud of the fact that I pay attention to why people are coming to me and wanting to make them feel safe in my space. While every massage therapist out there says “they are the best at what they do”, I have a true passion for helping people and helping them understand their body to feel better.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My amazing husband and family offer me support through thick and thin of owning my business. They truly have my back and I’m glad to know I have them in my corner.

As far as outside of my passion of massage, I enjoy knitting and crocheting, and reading romance novels.
