Hidden Gems: Meet Gracie Eads of Custom Styles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gracie Eads.

Hi Gracie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Custom Styles on August 26th, 2023, I got the idea a couple days before and did some major thinking and decided to just go for it. I had always had a passion for painting so I started with a couple small hand painted shirts my family wanted done and got some money doing that. Then for Christmas I received a Cricut and a heat press, then after I did some designs up I did a couple of shirts for myself and my family to kind of showcase my designs and get people interested in my business. After some people found out about my business I joined my local Facebook forum to get my designs more out there into the world, I also created an instagram account for more advertisement. As of right now it is still going strong, I plan to keep working at this as long as I can make people happy one design at a time, I am so excited to see where this goes next.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say it has been the smoothest honestly, sometimes you get 15 orders, sometimes you get 1, sometimes you get people messaging for an order and then never message back to continue with the ordering process. You also deal with malfunctions as well, like the circuit going out or the vinyl not sticking to the shirt and ruining a shirt. It comes with struggles along the way but it is 100% worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Custom Styles is designed to make custom shirts, shoes, hats, blankets, decals, and so much more! I usually make up designs and post them people order that but some also have designs they want and so they would contact me to help bring that to life on a shirt or we create a decal for them. I set them all at low prices to make it accessible for everyone who orders anything, I am very proud of how all my creations come out and people love the quality and they love finding low priced stuff that is durable. I want everyone to know that my business is very compatible with every single customer and I will do everything I possibly can to get the customer exactly what they ordered and make sure they are 100% satisfied with what they ordered and if not we will redo it in a heartbeat to make sure the get what they ordered and not waste money.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Persistence and adaptability consistently stand out as crucial. While confidence, communication, and leadership are also important, the ability to persevere through challenges and adjust to changing circumstances is vital for long-term viability.
