Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicity Hendricks.

Hi Felicity, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in a small town called Trenton, Missouri. We ended up moving to Kansas City when I was twelve years old. Straight out of high school, I knew I didn’t want to attend college. The type of schooling just wasn’t for me. So it took a few years to search my soul. I remember not feeling well often, and I wanted to get to the root cause.

After many doctor visits and being told nothing was wrong with me, I decided to take it into my own hands. I began searching for a naturopath doctor, and then realizing I was passionate about nature and eating foods from the earth, I enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. And that is where it all began. My health improved after visiting Dr. Goodbinder, one of my favorite functional medicine doctors in Kansas City. I eventually took it upon myself to do the work. After some years of falling off, I began experiencing dizziness and anxiety; one month, I spent utterly bedridden, and my Mom took care of me, thank you, Mom.

After many hospital visits, I was finally diagnosed with, what they call, a Pericallosal Lipoma, which is a fatty tumor sitting right on top of my central nervous system. These tumors can be asymptomatic all the way to debilitating seizures. Eventually, I returned to who I was with the proper nutrition and supplementation. I remember the day my friend and previous boss texted me. That morning, I prayed for good news, and she asked me if I wanted to work for her. And that is when it all began; I was a receptionist for her for a little while until she asked if I wanted to learn how to do colonics. And, of course, I said, “heck yes.” We, who are into holistic health, are into what some may find weird but to us is the best thing ever, especially the best detox service there is out there. I attended school through The International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT) and passed The National Board for Colon Hydrotherapy (NBCHT). And now I have my clinic in beautiful Mission, KS, Modern Colonics.

Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh, it definitely could have been smoother for this one. My health has been my biggest obstacle and is still a challenge, but I keep pushing. Life is all about overcoming and getting to the next level in life. So it’s only up from here.
