Hidden Gems: Meet Danielle Welch of Bridge Consulting & Design LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Welch.

Hi Danielle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I don’t think my story has ever been a straight line and honestly, I hope it never is.

I started my career in marketing, but what I quickly realized is that I wasn’t just interested in marketing… I was interested in how businesses grow, how people make decisions, and how the right connections can completely change the trajectory of someone’s business. That’s really what led me to start Bridge Consulting & Design.

At the beginning, I thought I was building a marketing agency. What I actually built was something much more relational. Today, I work with business owners as a growth strategist helping them not just market better, but think better, position themselves better, and connect to the right people. A lot of what I do now lives at the intersection of strategy, relationships, and opportunity.

Along the way, I’ve taken on roles that reflect that same thread. I serve as VP of Growth and Member Development at Partners in Profit, where I get to help independent optometry practices becoming more profitable through strategic partnerships. I co-host The Unqualified Podcast (@the.unqualified.pod)—real conversations about faith, life, and business. And then there’s the other side of me… I’m a mom of four, I love fitness, I’ve recently picked up golf (we’ll call it a work in progress), and I’ve somehow become very invested in Midwest weather patterns (checkout my “amateur weather reporter” profile @weatherwomanwelch for some good laughs).

What’s interesting is none of these things feel separate to me. The way I show up in business is the same way I show up in life: curious, relationship-driven, and always looking for ways to bring people together.

If I had to sum it up, I’d say I didn’t follow a perfectly mapped-out path, I built one by paying attention to what worked, who I enjoyed working with, and where I could actually make an impact. And I’m still very much in that process.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not even a little bit smooth and I actually think that’s been one of my biggest advantages.

Early on, one of my biggest struggles was trying to fit into what I thought a “marketing business” was supposed to look like. I was offering services the way I thought I should, pricing the way I thought I should, and saying yes to things that didn’t fully align because that’s what you do when you’re building, right? But over time, I realized I don’t fit well in a box… and neither does the way I help people.

Another challenge has been learning how to balance ambition with real life. I’m a mom of four, I have multiple roles, and I genuinely care about all of them. There have been seasons where it felt like I was being pulled in every direction; client work, leadership responsibilities, family, trying to take care of myself somewhere in there. I’ve had to get very clear on priorities, boundaries, and what actually moves the needle versus what just feels busy.

And then there’s the internal side of it: figuring out how to trust your instincts. When you’re building something that doesn’t look like everyone else’s path, there’s a lot of second-guessing. Am I doing too much? Not enough? Should I niche down more? Should I expand? I’ve asked myself all of those questions more times than I can count.

But if I’m being honest, those struggles are what shaped how I operate now. They forced me to simplify, to focus on relationships over transactions, and to build a business that actually fits my life not the other way around.

So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But I wouldn’t trade that, because the “messy middle” is where I figured out who I actually am as a business owner and that’s made everything I’m building now a lot more intentional.

As you know, we’re big fans of Bridge Consulting & Design LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Bridge Consulting & Design is, at its core, a growth strategy company, but not in the traditional “here’s your marketing plan, good luck” kind of way.

I work with business owners who are either stuck, scaling, or somewhere in between, and help them figure out what actually moves their business forward. That might look like refining their messaging, building out a marketing strategy, creating content, or reworking their offers but a lot of times, it goes deeper than that. I’m looking at the full picture: how they’re positioned, who they’re connected to, where opportunities exist, and what’s currently holding them back.

What I’ve become most known for is being a connector. I have a strong network across different industries, and I genuinely love introducing the right people to each other. A lot of my clients benefit not just from my strategy, but from who I can connect them to whether that’s a vendor, a partner, or another business owner who can help them grow. That piece has become a huge part of the value I bring.

I also don’t believe in one-size-fits-all marketing. Every business is different, and I’m not interested in giving someone a templated solution just because it’s easy or trendy. My approach is very hands-on, very relational, and very focused on results that actually make sense for their life and business.

What sets me apart is probably how integrated everything is. I’m not just looking at your Instagram or your website I’m looking at how your business functions as a whole. And I’m going to be honest with you about what’s working and what’s not, which people tend to appreciate (even if it stings a little at first).

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Bridge has evolved into something that reflects how I naturally operate—strategic, relational, and adaptable. It’s not rigid, and it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s built on trust, real conversations, and long-term growth.

If there’s one thing I’d want readers to know, it’s this: I’m not here to just “do your marketing.” I’m here to help you think differently about your business, connect you to the right opportunities, and ultimately grow in a way that’s sustainable and actually enjoyable.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a big believer that what you consume shapes how you show up in business and in life so I try to be intentional about that.

A few books that have really stuck with me: The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and Robert Mann completely shifted how I think about business and relationships it aligns a lot with how I operate now as a connector. Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller helped me understand the power of clear messaging, which is something I use with clients all the time. The Fractional CMO Method by Casey Stanton was also impactful in shaping how I step into a strategic role with businesses.

From a faith-driven business perspective, Evangelpreneur by Josh Tolley and Currency of Heaven by Taylor Welch (no relational) have both been really influential in how I think about entrepreneurship as a Christian. They challenged me to look at business not just as a way to generate income, but as a way to serve, steward, and create impact in a bigger way which has shaped how I lead and who I choose to work with.

On a more personal side, The Roots in a Woman by Paige Loehr—who also happens to be my best friend and co-host on The Unqualified Podcast (@the.unqualified.pod) is one I deeply resonate with and has helped me better understand myself. And then honestly, the Bible is a constant for me. It grounds how I lead, how I make decisions, and how I view success. Along with that, Motherhood is a Ministry Too by Joanna Beck really reframed how I think about being a mom—not as something separate from my work, but as one of the most important roles I have.

As far as apps or tools, I’m pretty simple. I use tools like ChatGPT to help me think through ideas and refine strategy, but a lot of my best work actually comes from conversations whether that’s with clients, peers, or people in my network. I also joke that I could probably run a small weather station with how often I’m checking radar apps and “reporting on severe weather”… it’s a very real hobby at this point. My favorite weather app is WeatherWise.

At the end of the day, the biggest “resource” for me is staying curious: about people, about business, and about how everything connects. That’s what helps me do my best work.
