Hidden Gems: Meet Courtney Quinlan of Midwest Matchmaking

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Quinlan.

Hi Courtney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got into the Matchmaking Industry at the age of 22 years old after graduating from college. After learning the industry, I knew this is what I wanted my forever career to be. While I loved everything about Matchmaking, I saw things I would do differently if I had my own firm. In 2009, I decided to start my business which I called Omaha Love. Omaha Love began with just myself and one other employee, and we assisting singles in Omaha, NE and close surrounding areas.

After watching the tremendous growth and success of Omaha Love and getting inquiries from singles across the Midwest region, I decided to expand my service to help singles across the Midwest in 2016. I then renamed my business Midwest Matchmaking. Midwest Matchmaking has become everything I dreamed it would be. We now have seven amazing team members who are just as passionate as myself about helping singles find love. We hope to continue to expand throughout the next few years as our recipe for great matches has been proven to be very successful!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I started my business in 2009, right in the midst of a recession, so adversity is certainly not something that scares me. Like all businesses, we have had growing pains along the way. We have used those opportunities to grow and to continue to make the business better. Like many businesses today, the pandemic was by far our largest obstacle. However, I absolutely feel it made us stronger as a whole, and it even allowed us to implement some changes that we will continue to use when the pandemic is over. In my opinion, if you don’t have bumps in the road, you cannot learn and make things better.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Midwest Matchmaking?
Midwest Matchmaking is the Midwest’s largest boutique Matchmaking Firm. We help introduce like-minded singles who are not getting the exposure to the kind of people they are looking to meet. Most of our clients seek out our services because they are busy and selective. They are people who have everything in their life they need except that special someone to share it with. We help them by putting the best options in front of them, arranging their date details, and we ever provide feedback and advice (if needed). We do not do blind dating, and we offer our clients professional headshots so they can feel confident about their photos and profile. Our strategies have been very successful over the years as we have been responsible for hundreds of marriages and long-term relationships.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am so busy that I don’t have a lot of time to read or listen to podcasts! When I am able to, I try to listen to other matchmaker’s podcasts. We all have very different strategies, and I find it very interesting to hear other matchmakers tell their stories and offer their advice.
