Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Jones.
Hi Christopher, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 2008 my son CJ was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The doctors gave him one year to live. During that time frame, we missed a clinical trial because we could not get his medical records in time. After CJ passed in 2009, I became an IT Director for a local healthcare company and was able to see the root causes of the problems with patient health data. After a layoff in 2018, I started MatchRite Care to promote patient record accessibility but most importantly to enable patient-provider communication across disjointed health systems.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This journey has been difficult and empowering. Creating software solutions in healthcare is not an easy task, it’s even more cumbersome when your software is focused on medical records at the patient level. Systems are disjointed on every level and there is not much current technology to develop from or connect to. Each Electronic Health Record (EHR) and hospital we connect to requires its connections point and development. To create the MatchRite platform, we needed to build out the infrastructure and create the connections before we could start developing the actual application.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about MatchRite Care?
The MatchRite Care solution is a patient application that works freely with multiple health systems. For example, if you have a doctor at Saint Lukes Hospital and another at University Health (formerly Truman Medical Center), these health systems use different medical records software. Because of this, your doctor at Saint Luke can’t easily access your medical records at University Health and vice versa. MatchRite Care offers the opportunity for the patients to share combined patient records from different health systems in standardize format. In turn, health systems can now work together within and across organizational boundaries to advance the effective delivery of healthcare for individuals and communities. MatchRite Care makes the patient the hub of their own medical records. MatchRite Care is uniquely positioned to become the standard of how patient information is freely shared across all health systems through patient access.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
When I started this journey years ago, I wanted to solve a problem with medical records that impacted my life.
I have a fantastic and accomplished team around me, that are well established within many different domains of healthcare. The MatchRite Care platform is currently connected to 20 health systems through 7 seven states. We are currently an approved application on www.medicare.gov. We are currently in the process of connecting VA health records, this will allow veterans to easily access their medical records throughout platform as well.
We are looking for strategic investors and beta partners as we prepare for full release in 1st Quarter 2022.
I’m encouraged about where we are now but even more excited about what the future could be with MatchRite in it.
