Hidden Gems: Meet Beth Cree of Beth Cree, Realtor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Cree

Hi Beth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was raised in Central Missouri, met and married my soulmate at age 20. I was the first person in my family to attend college and earned my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education. My husband and I raised two amazing daughters together. My first career was spent serving children and families in the Missouri First Steps program, which serves infants and toddlers with special needs or signifcant delays in their development. I met the most amazing families and learned incredible wisdom from them and their unique circumstances.

We moved to Kansas City and I continued my career serving families in the City. I learned about the city’s neighborhoods, cultures, and charms and enjoyed exploring what KC had to offer. Toward the end of my career in First Steps, I decided to follow a long-term dream of being a Realtor. I took skill, wisdom, perservance, integrity and commitment into that role and continue in that role 7 years later.

My husband and I love camping, hiking, and spending time with our family. We care for 3 elderly parents as we fulfill our roles in our professions. We love spending time with our daughters and friends. I serve on the Women’s Giving Collective through Easterseals and participating in the planning committee for their annual Crafted and Uncorked fundraising event.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Throughout life, we experience struggles and setbacks. That’s where grit and drive come from. When there’s a struggle or a setback, there’s a learning opportunity. That’s an opportunity to growth!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I have been a Realtor and small business owner for 7 years. I bring a unique mindset of service to my clients. My relationships with clients continues well beyond the transaction we share, which is a tribute to the mindset that this industry should be a service-oriented industry instead a sales-directed industry.

While I serve across the age span, I have unique skill and ability as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) through the National Association of Realtors. I have compliled an extensive network to meet the varied needs of the elderly clients I serve, as well as their family members. Every family’s needs and situations are different, and this network of contractors, elder law attorneys, financial advisors, lenders, and community providers is vital to meeting the individual downsizing needs.

Life experiences shape our awareness of need, and shape our futures. My family needs changed over the years, and my husband’s long=term illness led us into a decision to downsize into a smaller home, a villa where outdoor tasks like mowing and snow removal were provided by the community. I learned that a proactive step in downsizing hard, but the benefits were tremendous. My elderly parents experiences health crises twice, which led to 2 downsizing experiences that were far from tremendous. They were hard. They were full of emotions, grief, and panic. I realized how hard downsizing can be in the midst of crisis and decided there had to be a better way.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
When I’m serving clients, they experience my desire to represent their true needs, and a smooth process. My grit and drive keep clients moving forward even when they feel frustrated by today’s market. Respect of individual needs and circumstances is the key to our relationships.
