Hidden Gems: Meet Anna Kate Tillison of AnnaKateFitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Kate Tillison.

Anna Kate Tillison

Hi, Anna Kate. We’re so excited to have you on the platform. Before we get into questions about your work life, you can update our readers on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Everything I have done has been out of passion and things I am genuinely interested in. My parents always encouraged me to find things I love and find ways to make money from them. Initially, though, I went to college for elementary education. I wanted to be a teacher. Fairly quickly, I realized that being an entrepreneur is what I was meant to be.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story. Has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It has not necessarily been a smooth road, but it’s been a road I enjoy taking. The struggle I faced initially was building trust from my audience. This is the biggest thing that sets entrepreneurs apart and makes them successful. With fitness (as a personal trainer and nutritionist), I had to create trust with the public that I knew what I was doing and how to help people get their health and fitness on track. I worked hard for years to build this trust, and now that I have this reputation, it’s fairly easy to grow the business. Now, my struggles include balancing everything on my plate, scaling from a medium-sized business to a large-scale business, and having 10+ contractors I’m working with simultaneously to make the magic happen.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about AnnaKateFitness?
I am a personal trainer (based in Wichita, Kansas), nutritionist, and online coach. I have a team of 4 coaches who work alongside me online and in person to take on more clientele once my roster gets full. We have developed an app for the business that all our coaches and clients use. I also host fitness retreats in Mexico and Arizona, and in 2025, I will be branching out to host in some new countries as well. What sets me apart is that my brand is me, and I always strive to think outside the box to make my brand and clients successful. I also beat to the rhythm of my drum and live life however I want rather than following the norm. I’m most proud of the community I have built. Community is everything, and as a business, I would be nothing without my community of supporters. I want my readers to know that the sky is the limit as a business owner, so I fell in love with business. You have the power to be as successful as you put your mind to. I also offer online coaching for personalized workouts and nutrition. If you are reading this and recognize that you could use the guidance and coaching, contact [email protected]. We also have an Instagram page with free recipes and workouts @annakatefitnessteam.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
Getting respect from the public and your viewers will not be a cakewalk. That respect and trust are needed to have a successful business. Consistency is vital, and the more people see/hear from you and can tell you are genuine, the better your chances of succeeding are. I wish I had known the business side better when I started. I figured things out independently rather than hiring or working with a mentor. Having someone tell you the answers can save much time versus figuring it out alone.
