Hidden Gems: Meet Allie Minard of Beauty By Allie Marie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Minard

Hi Allie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey starts in 2019 when I was a senior in high school. I fell into the beauty industry by chance during an internship and I fell in love.
I started cosmetology school Fall of that year and got certified to do eyelash extensions as well.
Fast forward to the Fall of 2020 and I was officially a hairstylist/ Lash artist.
I continued working in a salon doing both for 3 years until I stopped doing hair and opened up my own studio in October of 2023. I started my business under the name “The Lash Loft Beauty Co.” but since moving my studio to the KCMO area I have rebranded to “Beauty by Allie Marie” I am now a multi certified lash artist and I offer brow, skin care, and spray tans.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Breaking my way into this industry was harder than I expected. I was in school during Covid which made the experience very difficult and I contemplated on not continuing. I’m very glad I stuck it out as this career has given me so many wonderful opportunities. I’ve learned a lot of lessons over the years as well. I had a few people doubt my plan of specializing in lashes because they did not think it was sustainable long term. I’m happy to report that it is as long as you’re hungry and willing to learn and grow.

Beauty By Allie Marie is a welcoming beauty studio where people come to relax and feel their best. I offer Customized Lash Extensions, Lash Lifts, Brow services, Skin Care services, and Spray Tanning. I am very focused on continuing education to make sure my clients are receiving top notch services with only the best products. I am also committed to finding and using products that use the cleanest ingredients as possible.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I really love the sense of community not just with-in my industry but with-in the Kansas City area as well. It has been so fun to connect with other artists and small business owners. Seeing the pride people have in our community is amazing.
