Hidden Gems: Meet Alexis Nibert of Be My Guest Weddings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Nibert.

Hi Alexis, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I spent my childhood watching “Say Yes to the Dress”, & “Cake Boss” learning all the wedding tricks.

I really thought my dream was to work with Randy on SYTTD as a Bridal Stylist. I tried being a bridal stylist part-time and had a blast working at a Bridal Store in KC but it wasn’t enough.

After years of planning as a hobby after my sister got married, those around me convinced me to share my love of event organization, timelines & fanny packs with the world.

One of my favorite aspects of being a wedding planner is being able to learn & be involved with every vendor from a wedding! From sharing my favorite bridal boutiques to my favorite local DJs, I never plan the same wedding twice!

After I had my first child, I knew I didn’t want to go back to an office job & miss out on life with my son. My faith in God and support from my family led me to this career change! I’ve now been in business full-time for over 1 year!

I am so proud of how much I’ve grown as a person & now in business trying to build my team of planners & assistants to help brides all over Missouri!

From the name of my business “Be My Guest Weddings” & how I treat my couples, I will always love being a fairy godmother planner making every wedding sparkle!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Outside of being a first-time mom, being a first-time business owner has been the craziest, hardest yet most rewarding journey so far.

There have been so many struggles since I’ve gone full time, it’s hard to keep track! I’ve had to learn how to build, maintain and grow a business in an industry that I only knew existed in movies & tv! There is nothing more frustrating & humbling than trying to succeed in something you still have so much to learn about.

Thankfully, I’ve realized I have a sixth sense for weddings so when I struggle, I let go & let God show me how to learn and overcome!

If 27 dresses were based off of a wedding planner, that’d be me because I know I could reach out to any of my past & present brides and they’d be there for me!
