Hidden Gems: Meet Aaron Becker of Aaron Fit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Becker.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was a collegiate athlete and have been a firefighter for 18 years. Working out and being in good physical shape has always been important to me. Several years ago, I starting helping people with their health and fitness goals. After personal training at a couple different studios around the city, I opened up Aaron Fit north of the river.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think there are going to be bumps in the road in any career path. Being a business owner the last 18 months with the pandemic brought on new challenges that no one could predict. Providing clients with workouts and ideas to stay motivated during the shutdown and implementing the new guidelines when things started to open back up was/is a challenge every day. Same with days at the fire dept. Policy changes, awareness on every call, and the measures taken to protect us and the citizens we serve happened overnight.

We’ve been impressed with Aaron Fit LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Aaron Fit is a personal training studio in the Northland. We help clients of all ages and fitness levels, from weight loss to athlete performance. We also have at least one group class offered each day and two on Wednesdays and Fridays. We have an amazing community of clients and a positive, fun environment to help people accomplish their health and fitness goals and have success. I hope we are most known for that:)

Aaron Fit and the clients are very active in the community volunteering and holding drives for Synergy Services Youth Center and City Union Mission. Our biggest day of the year is our annual Mesh/Leggio Memorial workout we have for two firefighter friends and co-workers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in a fire we were fighting in October 2015.

I’m most proud of the huge heart our little gym has. Our goal is not only to impact the lives of the clients who train at the gym, but make an impact on the community as a whole and inspire the younger clients, including my children Sydney and William, the importance of it too.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The fitness and health industry has grown so much in the last 10 years and I only see it continuing the same trend for years to come. I believe one of the lessons the Covid-19 pandemic taught us is that getting out, having an active lifestyle, and eating a healthy diet can help how our body’s fight virus and/disease.
