Exploring Life & Business with Zondi Krehbiel of ReeceNichols Real Estate Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zondi Krehbiel.

Hi Zondi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After my corporate job ended, I was happy because I wanted to be a real estate agent. My last day at my corporate job was on a Thursday, I was in real estate class the following Monday. Although I was excited to finally start my dream career, I had no idea what to expect. There was a lot of training. Then after I signed up with ReeceNichols, there was more training. As a new agent, I was not very busy with clients so I used my first six months as my “honeymoon” period where I loaded up any available agents in my Parkville office and carpooled for Advantage and CRNC training. My main reason for wanting to be a realtor is that when my husband and I bought our house, I had no idea what to expect. I thought we would make an offer, pay and move-in in a couple of days. But we were under contract for 30 days and in those 30 days, we had to do inspection on the house. I wanted this house so much that I thought my husband was just stalling by doing unnecessary inspection because he did not want the house as much as I did. The house was perfect, why and what are they inspecting? Why do an appraisal? What’s an appraisal? I am pretty sure this house is worth what it’s listed for or they would list it for what it’s not worth? All these questions. Later I realized that as a first-time home buyer, how many people of my background have no idea about home buying process in America? I did not understand why no one tells you about home buying process, they don’t teach you this in college or anywhere until you are already on the market for one. Educating all individuals about home buying and selling process is the best part of my job.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Luckily, with a ton of support from my husband who believes in me more than I do, this new career as a real estate agent has been smooth and exciting and in my first year, I was awarded ReeceNichols Top Rookie for 2019. The support from friends, family and the embrace and love showered upon me and other new agents from ReeceNichols agents especially the Parkville agents is outstanding. Real estate agents are such amazing group of professionals. The day I walked in the brokerage office and did a tour, I really felt like I had finally arrived home. This was my place.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about ReeceNichols Real Estate Co.?
As the biggest real estate company in the greater Kansas City area, ReeceNichols is part of home services of America offering residential and commercial real estate, relocation services, Kansas City Title, Prosperity Mortgage, Insurance and rent with option to lease program. ReeceNichols is the local leader in real estate being founded right here in Kansas City. ReeceNichols is not a franchise. I get this question a lot from co-op agents. We are a Corporation.
