Today we’d like to introduce you to TAYLOR HUTTON, MBA.
Hi TAYLOR, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I actually never planned on owning a business.
Back in 2020 – I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Finance, and immediately joined the corporate world working in the trucking industry. I loved what I was doing and I was making great career advancements – but in May of 2022 my life completely changed after my dad passed away because he delayed seeking medical care due to the cost. That experience made me realize financial stress is so much bigger than money. It affects your health, your relationships, your confidence, and the decisions you make every single day.
I remember thinking while at my dad’s grave site – “If I have the knowledge to help people, why am I not using it?”
So I went back to school, earned my MBA, was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success Honor Society (NSLS) as part of the top 5% of college students, and took a leap of faith by opening Budget Bee.
When I first started – I thought I was helping people build budgets. But as I worked with more clients – I realized they didn’t just need another spreadsheet … they needed someone in their corner. Someone who could organize the chaos, answer the questions they felt embarrassed to ask, and take the financial mental load off their shoulders.
That’s what led me to evolve Budget Bee into Household CFO services.
Today – I have the privilege of helping busy individuals and families spend less time stressing about money and more time enjoying the life they’ve worked so hard to build. Looking back – I never imagined that one of the hardest moments of my life would become the reason I wake up genuinely excited for work every single morning.
I couldn’t change what happened to my family, but if I can help another family experience less financial stress, sleep a little better at night, and feel confident about their future – then I know I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. I don’t think the road is ever completely smooth when you’re building a small business … especially when you’re creating something that doesn’t fit into the traditional mold.
One of my biggest challenges has been introducing a service that people haven’t really seen before. As a Household CFO – I don’t fit neatly into the box of a financial advisor, accountant, or traditional financial consultant. And because of that – the creation of my company has come with a lot of questions, skepticism, and even comments from people who didn’t understand what I was trying to build.
Early on – those comments got to me. But over the course of the 2 and a half years I have been open – I’ve realized that not everyone is supposed to understand your vision right away.
Innovation almost always feels unfamiliar before it feels obvious.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Budget Bee was built on the belief that financial support should feel just as personalized as hiring any other professional to make your life easier.
Most people think hiring financial help means they’ll be judged for buying coffee, told they need to stop spending money, or handed a budget they’ll never look at again. That’s never been my approach.
As a Household CFO – I help busy individuals and families take the financial mental load off their shoulders. I organize the day-to-day finances, monitor spending, optimize cash flow, create systems that actually work, and provide ongoing guidance so my clients don’t have to carry everything on their own. My goal isn’t to control how people spend their money, but rather to help them build a financial system that supports the life they want to live.
What truly sets Budget Bee apart is my “Taylor-Made for You” approach. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all budgets or cookie-cutter financial advice because no two households are the same. Every recommendation, strategy, and financial system I create is customized to fit my clients’ unique lifestyle, goals, and priorities.
I also believe financial support should be accessible, not intimidating. My clients know they can text me when a financial question pops up, when they’re making a big purchase, or even when they want to celebrate a financial win. They’re not just hiring someone to create a budget – they’re gaining a trusted financial partner who’s in their corner every step of the way.
The thing I’m most proud of is watching my business evolve alongside my clients’ needs. I started by teaching people how to budget, but they showed me they needed something much bigger. That’s how Budget Bee transformed into Household CFO services. Because my mission has never been to sell budgets – it’s been to give people back their time, their confidence, and their peace of mind.
At the end of the day – I want people to know that asking for help with your finances isn’t a sign of failure. It’s one of the smartest investments you can make. Just like families outsource cleaning, lawn care, or childcare – I believe they should be able to outsource the financial stress, too.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years I think we’re going to see even more AI-driven tools and automated budgeting platforms in the financial space. While those tools can be helpful for organization and creating a starting point – I also think we need to be very honest about their limitations.
A budget is only as accurate as the data behind it and most people are not fully aware of their actual monthly spending. Things like subscriptions, impulse purchases, emotional spending, small daily transactions, and irregular annual expenses often go overlooked or underestimated. When that happens – even the most “perfect-looking” AI-generated budget is built on incomplete information.
That’s the gap I see in the industry.
Financial clarity doesn’t come from a polished spreadsheet. It comes from awareness, behavior change, and accountability. All things technology alone cannot fully provide.
AI can organize numbers, but it can’t recognize hesitation when someone is talking about their financial struggles. It can’t hear the uncertainty, avoidance, or stress behind a decision. And it doesn’t have emotions or lived experience to understand the human side of money in the way another person can.
Because at the end of the day, budgeting isn’t just math – it’s behavior.
That’s why I think the future of this industry will require more human guidance alongside technology, not less. Tools will continue to evolve, but the need for real accountability, honest conversations, and personalized financial support will only become more important.
