Exploring Life & Business with Sara Qawasmi of Sara’s Dream Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Qawasmi.

Sara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started the day I was searching for my dream wedding dress in the states. I couldn’t find what I wanted as I wanted the luxury ballgown look which was common in the Middle East as I am also Arab. I searched for months and finally got ahold of suppliers. Designed my dress and got so many compliments.

I realized how much his made me happy and I wanted to make other brides have that same feeling without spending an arm and a leg customizing dresses by bridal shops or having to travel to find their dress. I then got into designing engagement dresses pageant, dresses and well.. luxury formal dresses for any and all occasions! My goal and dream is to bring the luxury styles mainly found overseas, here to the states and specifically to KC where it’s not as common.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, it’s been smooth. Started off super strong and business took off within the first few months. After covid hit is when I felt the decline as many businesses did too. I believe however that things will go back to normal soon and myself and other businesses will flourish!

As you know, we’re big fans of Sara’s Dream Boutique . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is considered to be a small online business based in Kansas City. I specialize in designing, customizing and recreating dresses to meet client’s wants, needs and budget. I’m known for ballgowns and luxury wedding gowns, lots of beading, sparkle and puff! I would say the thing that sets me apart from others is mainly customizing dresses for clients. My time frames are a lot less than most bridal stores and I introduce more uncommon styles to the communities. I used to have a website but did decide to temporarily take it down as I wanted to interact with my clients one-on-one as opposed to just having them place an order and them never hear from me. I want to be able to understand, accomplish and satisfy their needs and wants when it comes to making their dream dresses. Communication is KEY, so I make sure to maintain that with my Queens (clients).
