Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Noel.
Hi Samuel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Straight out of high school, I started at a local security company doing residential sales. We were working out of the owner’s garage, and there were about 6 of us. After a year, I began my commercial training and started selling small business accounts. Once I hit my stride, I stepped into larger commercial and industrial accounts.
I was honored to be at that company for almost 6 years. I learned so much about running a business, sales, business development, marketing, and the grind required to make things happen for yourself. I had a desire to move into ownership, so I started a marketing business with my sister in early 2020. We took the first 90 days and tested the industry and our ability to see if it made sense for us to pursue.
Sure enough, after 90 days, we had more work than we could handle, and we were hitting the goals of our clients. A couple of months after that, we were so busy that she needed to quit her day job and pursue her dream job as a full-time career. Once she was full-time, we began the discussion of bringing me on full-time and established a timeline. I sat down with the owner of the security company and let him know my transition plan and asked him how much notice he would need.
He asked for 6 months. We agreed that I could work on the security business and my marketing business at the same time while they brought new salesmen on to take my place. They brought on some great people, and the sales leader was excellent, which caused their onboarding to be quick and efficient. Once the end of the 6 months rolled around, I put in my last day at the security company and came on full-time at Treasure in November 2021.
When I left, the company was 45 people and had its own office space. I was proud to be a contributor to the growth and success of the team. Since being full-time at Treasure Advertising, we’ve experienced tremendous growth and have found that commercial Real Estate marketing was the niche our business was called to.
We dialed into that industry and are now looking for 2 more associates to bring on. I owe any of my success so far to my faith, the support of my family, and the encouragement of my wife.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting over the immature views of money I had as an 18-year-old has been a challenge, along with being patient. Going slow to save relationships is always worth it after the fact.
Every business is so different. Don’t bring your issues from an old job to a new job, and keep an eye out to observe what the issues are at the new job, and allow them to be what they are and work to change them.
Be honest with your work. Is it excellent? If not, fire yourself and hire a better you.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a commercial real estate marketing firm. We provide social media management, email marketing, content creation, and software development. We work with developers, brokers, owners, tenants, and contractors.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love our culture. We have a lot of personality as a community. We need higher-end restaurants and more diverse activities.
