Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Woolsey.
Hi Rose, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started in Kauai, 15 years ago. I got a chance invitation to stay on the island for an entire month- without hesitating, I booked a ticket, packed up my best bathing suit, and hopped on a plane.
It’s not an understatement to say that month changed my life. But it did so in quiet ways. On Kauai, we didn’t do anything traditionally “touristy.” We lived simply like the locals did. I filled my days with shave ice from the corner shop, raucous family luaus, and an hour-long walk on the beach every single morning. It was paradise.
I’ve been exploring my love for travel and Hawaii since that trip. My passion and desire to help people have memorable travel experiences led me to open the doors of my travel agency in December 2019, a few months before COVID shut down travel completely.
I quickly learned how to navigate rebookings and cancellations, how to advocate for my clients and provide clarity on continually changing travel policies. I also learned that the travel agent community is a tight-knit community that is incredibly supportive of each other and I have been able to develop amazing relationships with other travel industry professionals, near and far!
I am, however, very grateful people are booking travel again! Business is booming with people planning quick, much-needed getaways, overdue honeymoons, friend reunions, and bucket list vacations. I specialize in planning highly detailed trips to Hawaii- including tons of activity and dining suggestions based on my clients’ interests. While I am a Hawaii destination specialist, I send my clients all over the world!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Covid has been the biggest challenge! But the challenges that Covid have brought to the travel industry have been the best teaching opportunity I could have asked for!
We’ve been impressed with Where To Go Travel Co, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a Travel Advisor, I help guide people to make good buying decisions for their vacations. There are thousands of options and decisions to make when planning travel. Not only do I save my clients time, I make sure they’re not wasting their money on experiences they think will be good, but in reality aren’t up to par.
I am most known for my highly detailed Hawaii itineraries. (Here is a sample itinerary – https://travefy.com/trip/6yw9rqysgnksqz2av24wxf7xc4xxatq?d=17054968)
I love to suggest activities based on my client’s interests and desired activity levels, guide them to the best places to eat, and even show them the best places to watch the amazing Hawaiian sunsets.
Not only can my clients expect a highly customized trip plan, they can also count on me to be there for them should anything go wrong on their trip.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is that my clients have the best vacation experience for their unique needs and desires. When you work with Where To Go Travel Co, that means that the vacation experience starts with the booking process. I want my clients to have fun planning, not be stressed out over the thousands of decisions to make! I aim to make the decision and booking process seamless, fun, and stress-free.
