Exploring Life & Business with Nancy Oliver of Infrared Oasis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Oliver.

Nancy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a breast cancer survivor that was trying everything to relieve my pain from chemo and multiple surgeries once I was cancer-free. I found a Groupon for an infrared sauna pod to reduce my neuropathy pain, boost collagen reproduction across my chest and relieve swelling from lymphedema. I bought six sessions and after three of them, I noticed some relief. On my last session, I was going to buy more but the woman said she was only renting the machine and she was going to start a new business. So I cashed in my 401k and bought the machine from the company she was renting from. I quit my job of 14 years and started my own infrared sauna pod business. I want to help other people feel better too. Right after I bought it, I had to have a total knee replacement and could not get in the machine for six weeks. The first day I got in the swelling in my knee went down so much that my mobility was greatly increased. Now it looks like my surgery was over ten years ago. Just by relaxing for 15 mins 3 times a week inside the infrared sauna pod my scar has gotten so light. In the first five months of using the pod, I lost 40 lbs. I had to shut down because of Covid and my business is just starting to pick up again. Over the last three months, I lost another 20 lbs. I feel better, look better, I am no longer taking six different pain medications and my phantom muscle spasms have stopped. This pod is amazing and I want everyone to feel & look their best.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road. The company I bought the machine from gave me so much trouble trying to force me to charge high prices and withholding information. Then there was the woman I was renting a 10×10 room from inside a salon. She raised my rent when we closed for Covid, then she raised it again when we opened back up. My rent went up an additional $500 a month. So I found a great woman who owns Wellness @127 she had an open room and offered it to me. So now I work in a space with a Nurse Practitioner & Physical Therapist. They are both great women! So my road is finally smoothing out.

As you know, we’re big fans of Infrared Oasis. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My infrared sauna pod has so many benefits to help everyone. It increases: Immune System, Metabolism, Circulation, Lymphatic Drainage, Weight Loss, Muscle Repair, Detoxification and Collagen Reproduction. It decreases: Fatigue, Stress, Anxiety, Cellulite, Stretch Marks, Scar Tissue, Inflammation, Swelling, Nerve Pain, Muscle Pain, Joint Pain, Phantom Pain and Postpartum Depression. I would say I specialize in making people feel good. I see clients by appointment Mon-Sat and make sure it’s safe for them. If you currently have active cancer, current broken bones, a pacemaker, defibrillator, metal implants that are not titanium or if you are pregnant, this machine is not safe for you. I am open about my story and I think it helps new clients feel comfortable about what they have been through. I have had a whole life of trauma and experiences that I can relate to almost everyone. If I can’t relate then I get to listen and learn something new from a client. I care about each person that comes in my door and I let them decide what they want to do during their session. Some people are quiet and listen to music or guided meditation and with others, we talk about everything. Want people to know that you can always feel better. Even if you are healthy, eat right and workout infrared sauna pod can still help you. Each appointment is 30 mins, this gives you time to undress, apply a special lotion and then you lay down inside the pod and get a vibration massage while the infrared and red light therapy lights heat your body for 15 mins, then you get dressed and go on with your day with a nice feeling.

What are your plans for the future?
I would really like to have enough clients to fill my days. Then I would like to purchase more pods, get a bigger space and hire people to help me run them. That is my five years plan. No big changes anytime soon.
