Exploring Life & Business with Mike Perkins of Olde Mill Properties

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Perkins.

Hi Mike, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started back in Sept of 2017 when Wylie Saulsbury stumbled upon a 100+-year-old building. He immediately fell in love with it. He bought the building and started the renovations. Since buying the building, we have opened up multiple businesses. The Fuel House, which is a country club for car enthusiast. Ten and Two Coffee bar, where we serve coffee as well as cocktails and spirits. There is also a brewery, Own Agenda, as well an ice cream shop, Olde Mill Ice Cream. There is also a car detailing shop, Stockyard Detailing. We are expanding to open up Quentin’s BBQ at the end of this summer. We have yard games, cornhole, etc.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has NOT been a smooth road. With a 100-year-old building comes some interesting challenges, water leaks, there was no plumbing, electrical or HVAC in the building when we bought it. The entire property was overgrown with weeds from almost 30 years of neglect.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Olde Mill Properties is a 100+-year-old building that houses several businesses. We are a business consisting of several other businesses, The Fuel House and Ten and Two Coffee, we also lease space to several other great companies, Stockyard Detailing and Own Agenda Brewery.

What are your plans for the future?
We are opening a 3rd Ten and Two Coffee in Parkville. Opening Quentin’s BBQ at the end of this summer.
