Today we’d like to introduce you to Mea Austin.
Mea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My husband and I have multiple small businesses. I am a Motivational Speaker, Executive/Personal Coach and Fitness instructor. My husband, Steve, runs an automotive business, a mobile dog grooming bus rental business and trucking company. Our daughter is also an entrepreneur and owns Lulu’s Bakery in Eudora. We had our eye on the building at 1004 Locust for years to house the bakery and my fitness business. Luckily, the owner and I went to high school together. We asked for first dibs on the building if he ever sold, which is how we came to own the space. My husband is a jack of all trades. He gutted the building and remodeled it to hold both the bakery and event space. We host parties, corporate events, and trade shows. We also have several fitness instructors who use the space for classes, including myself.
Covid hit us hard and we hosted very few events for several years. We were blessed to continue to have fitness instructors stay on during covid to teach classes virtually, allowing us to stay afloat. We are just starting to experience an increase of event rentals, and hope the trend will continue! Lulu’s Bakery, the other business housed in our space, has become a fixture in the community.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Covid created the biggest challenge. All of our events canceled and we did not have any bookings for months on end. I am grateful that we held on and that we are beginning to book events again.

Fusion Space Share is a 40 X 60 foot event space with a full sound system, club lights, black lights, projector, tables and chairs. Our wide open space and 12-foot, vaulted ceilings offer a perfect setting for a party, a meeting or trade show. We have an oversized garage door to make loading and unloading simple. Renters love our sound system and club lights to help create a fun, party environment. We are reasonably priced, with lower hourly rates than most event spaces in our area.
