Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Hassinger.
Maggie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I became interested in learning to do my makeup better around 2013 and gradually started to get good at it, then started doing my friends’ makeup. A few of them suggested I advertise makeup for proms & graduations. I did a photographer’s makeup for her graduation which lead to me working for her as a makeup artist. I decided I really liked being a makeup artist and wanted to become a licensed esthetician. I moved to Dallas, Tx for esthetician school and began getting into the wedding industry.
In 2021 I decided to move back to Missouri which allowed me to focus on my personal business, as the industry was not as saturated. I’ve been blessed to grow my business tremendously since returning to Missouri.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With any career there is struggle. When I first moved to Dallas I was not getting booked, in a saturated market it is hard to stand out. Luckily I was able to contract with agencies and bigger makeup artists which really helped me develop ideas on how I’d like to run my business.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a mobile business that provides onsite makeup services. We specialize in weddings and special events, but also love working in film and photography.
What does success mean to you?
