Exploring Life & Business with Lakeisha Heard of Intangible Inches

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lakeisha Heard.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a kid, I have always loved to do hair. Doing my dolls to doing my own hair, friends and family, anyone, who would let me put a braid in! It’s my talent, my gift, my passion!

I opened Intangible Inches Hair Salon on September 6, 2016! It sorta just fell into my lap and now it’s been almost five years of fun. Getting to know new people, listening to stories, crying and laughing, making people feel beautiful by just doing what I love to do. Hair!

I was a booth renter at a tiny cute salon in Kansas when I passed by the sign one day. God’s time, not ours, because I loved my old salon and wasn’t ready for the change. I now appreciate the growth and lessons I’ve had over the past five years and welcome the upcoming experiences as well. From Barbie dolls to styling stars. I am growing and taking care of men and women’s most prized possession, their hair! One strand at a time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finances. Of course, that’s always the struggle, right? I took a leap of faith, quit my full-time job and decided this is what I want to do, what I only want to do. But where would the money to do it come from?

Your a new business so banks don’t want to give you a loan. You still have bills at home. Your maxing credit cards out… Finances were my biggest obstacle! Now is finding others who share my same passion.

As you know, we’re big fans of Intangible Inches. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I own Intangible Inches Hair Salon. I also manufacture my own hair oil Hair Hydration Oil (H²O). We specialize in healthy hair, one strand at a time. I offer a range of services, the most sought after being hair restoration services and products.
