Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerri Robinson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I I’ve been in the hair industry for over 33 years. I started behind the chair as a stylist, worked my way up to master colorist and master stylist, and eventually became a supervisor overseeing salons across four states for the Regis Corporation.
Because I have fine, thinning hair myself, I’ve always been especially interested in helping clients with those concerns. About eight years ago, that curiosity led me into the world of trichology. I explored several different product lines focused on hair loss and thinning, but I was never completely satisfied with the education behind them—I wanted a deeper, more scientific understanding.
Three years ago, I took the leap and became a board-certified Trichologist through TrichoEDU. I truly jumped in with both feet and discovered my true passion.
Over the past year, I’ve realized that what really lights me up is supporting women experiencing menopausal hair loss and its related symptoms. It’s a topic that has traditionally been very hush-hush, and I’m committed to bringing it out into the open in a respectful, empowering way. To deepen that work, I also became a Head Spa Specialist, which allows me to offer both in-chair scalp and hair loss treatments as well as relaxing, spa-style services that give women time to breathe, reconnect, and care for themselves.
I believe one of the most important parts of my work is education. Our hair may not be a vital organ, but for many women it’s part of their identity—our “crown and glory.” Teaching women how to care for their scalp and hair helps them feel more confident, more informed, and more in control.
I offer a range of treatment options, including science-backed products that I trust and holistic, customized solutions tailored to each person’s specific concerns—whether it’s an itchy scalp, psoriasis, eczema, genetic hair loss, DHT-related thinning, and more. I also love educating younger women about what to expect as they age, so they can be proactive rather than reactive in caring for their hair and scalp.
This part of the business has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. I still enjoy cutting and coloring hair, but my greatest joy now comes from teaching women—of all ages—how to care for their hair and scalp so they can continue enjoying the styles and services they love, while minimizing the risk of preventable hair and scalp issues.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not a smooth road—and I don’t think it’s meant to be.
I don’t believe any meaningful journey is perfectly smooth. There are always bumps, detours, and growing pains, and those challenges are often where the real learning and growth happen.
As a post‑menopausal woman pivoting into a more specialized, science-based side of the hair industry, I’ve definitely faced my share of obstacles. I’ve been navigating my own menopause symptoms—brain fog, fatigue, weight changes, hair loss—while simultaneously building a new niche in my career. That alone brings its own set of physical and emotional hurdles.
On top of that, working in the Midwest has been both a blessing and a challenge. I’m originally an East Coast city girl at heart, and I’ve often felt that many trends, innovations, and advanced treatments tend to reach this area a bit later. Being one of the first to introduce new ideas—like trichology-focused care, head spa services, and deeper education around menopausal hair loss—means I sometimes have to work harder to help people understand concepts they’ve never heard of before. Many people are naturally resistant to change, and I’m often asking them to look at hair and scalp health in a completely new way.
The good news is: I actually thrive on change. I love learning, testing, and staying curious. People who know me well will tell you I’m a constant learner—I’m always asking, “What’s new? What’s working? What’s not working?” and then figuring out how to bring those solutions to women in the Kansas City area.
One of the biggest ongoing challenges is helping people understand that hair growth and hair loss are not “quick fix” issues. Hair health truly starts from the inside out. We have to care for our overall health, scalp, and hair consistently, and it often takes 3 to 12 months to see real, meaningful improvements. Managing expectations, educating clients on the process, and walking with them through that timeline can be challenging—but it’s also one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is all about empowering women through their hair and scalp health journey, especially when it comes to the often-overlooked challenges of menopause and hair loss. After over 33 years in the hair industry, evolving from a stylist to a master colorist, master stylist, and even supervising multiple states for Regis, I found my true calling in trichology.
What I do is provide a holistic and deeply personalized approach to hair and scalp care. I specialize in trichology, which is the scientific study of hair and scalp disorders, with a particular focus on menopausal hair loss. I’m also known for our Head Spa services, which combine therapeutic scalp treatments with a luxurious, relaxing experience.
What truly sets me apart is this blend of scientific expertise and compassionate care. I became a board-certified Trichologist through TrichoEDU because I wanted to go beyond surface-level solutions. I understand these issues not just as a professional, but also personally, having experienced fine, thinning hair and menopausal symptoms myself. This personal connection allows me to approach every client with genuine empathy and a deep understanding of what they’re going through. I offer both science-backed products and custom-blended holistic solutions, tailored to individual needs, whether it’s for an itchy scalp, psoriasis, eczema, or genetic hair loss.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the safe, open, and educational space we’ve created. I’m actively working to destigmatize conversations around menopausal hair loss and other scalp conditions, bringing these ‘hush-hush’ subjects into the light. It’s about being proactive, not reactive, and educating women of all ages on how to truly care for their ‘crown and glory’ from the inside out.
I want your readers to know that there *is* help and hope for hair and scalp concerns. My brand is built on the belief that understanding and addressing the root causes of hair issues leads to lasting results. I offer a sanctuary where women can relax, learn, and receive expert, personalized care that respects their unique journey. It’s not just about treating symptoms; it’s about empowering women with knowledge and effective solutions so they can feel confident and beautiful at every stage of life.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me, above all else, is empowering women to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin, especially when it comes to their hair and scalp health.
Why? Because I’ve seen firsthand, both in my own life and in the lives of countless clients over 33 years, how deeply intertwined our hair is with our self-esteem and identity. When a woman experiences hair loss or scalp issues, it’s not just a physical problem; it often impacts her emotional well-being, her confidence, and how she moves through the world.
For so long, topics like menopausal hair loss have been whispered about, if at all. It’s been a source of shame or embarrassment for many. What truly drives me is changing that narrative. I want to create a space where women feel heard, understood, and supported, where they can openly discuss their concerns without judgment.
Being able to combine my decades of hair industry experience with my specialized knowledge in trichology and head spa treatments allows me to offer real, tangible solutions. But it’s more than just products or services; it’s about education, about giving women the tools and understanding to be proactive about their health. It’s about helping them realize that they don’t have to suffer in silence, and that with the right care and knowledge, they can regain control and feel good about their hair again.
Seeing that transformation—the renewed confidence, the relief, the joy—that’s what truly matters to me. It’s incredibly rewarding and fulfilling to be a part of that journey for each woman.
