Exploring Life & Business with Joey and Lizzy Vecchione of Annex Coffee Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey and Lizzy Vecchione.

Hi Joey and Lizzy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We have had a dream of starting a coffee company together for many years, but we weren’t exactly sure what it would look like. Early 2020 we decided to purchase a vintage camper and start our company as a mobile shop. Due to the pandemic, we had about eight months home together and thought, “what better time to start on our dream?” So we used our time at home to plan, dream, and work together to start Annex Coffee Company.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We would say we’ve probably experienced the furthest thing from a “smooth road” as possible, but we have learned so much along the way. Because of Covid-19 there were delays in everything. From the building of the trailer to the actual business side of it all. Our timeline was stretched out much more than we had anticipated. With a mobile shop, there are so many layers- getting everything to fit in the trailer, function properly, and stay secure is no easy task! We expect more bumps in the future, but we try to approach them each as learning opportunities because that’s exactly what they are.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a coffee company serving out of a renovated vintage camper. We partner with Post Coffee Company for our source of beans. We create hand-crafted, delicious cups of coffee brought to you! We would love to be a part of your next event, wedding, party, etc. In addition to coffee, we strive to cultivate light and community. We love the idea something as simple as coffee being the cause of bringing people together.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
We met as a sophomore and junior in high school, started dating, fell in love, and got married after college.
