Exploring Life & Business with Jeff Morgan of Morgan Miller Plumbing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Morgan.

Hi Jeff, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am the son of son of a plumber, so it was in my blood that I ended up owning a plumbing company.

I spent some time at a national plumbing franchise and wasn’t impressed with the way they were treating plumbers and I thought to myself there has to be a better way to treat the employees – thus, creating Morgan Miller Plumbing (MMP) in 1997. The first 12 years were focusing hard on the business.

Then, after hiring the right people, I was able to start focusing on other sides of the business like marketing and networking. Boy, what a fun time that was!

In 2014, Facebook reached out and had MMP join a Small/Medium Business Council that included business owners who were using Facebook to create a solid stream of revenue. We even got to go out to Facebook a couple of times for the council – it was so much fun!

In 2016, because of social media, I got involved with Plumbers Without Borders and that took me to Haiti and then led to a position on PWB’s Board. Then led me to Engineers Without Borders. Now, I am celebrating my 25th year in business!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
HA! What’s a smooth road? My struggles weren’t any different than the struggles we are always hearing about.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Morgan Miller Plumbing?
I own Morgan Miller Plumbing and we are a full-service plumbing company serving the entire Kansas City Metro.

What sets us apart is our service – we want to give the best customer experience, all the way down to our thank you cards after the service.

I am most proud of the reputation we have built – a reputation that means quality. When people see our name they know it will be a job well done.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being able to get up each morning. No lie. I am just thankful and happy for that.
