Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Smith.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always wanted to venture off and become an entrepreneur. Fashion was one of the first things I had in mind.

After buckling down and doing my own research, I jumped out on faith and opened up an online boutique called Jsluxuryboutique. At first, my vision was for me to only have it online due to me just having another kid and working full time.

I wasn’t ready to fully commit to opening up a storefront just yet. One day, I and my mother, Shaunie sat on the phone for hours about what we wanted to do next in life to level up.

We started going back and forth sharing ideas. My mother always talked about owning a spa and wanting to start a family business. We came to a conclusion of opening up a spa with also placing my boutique inside as well. We agreed on starting this new business adventure together and named our shop Blac diamond lux spa!

My mother, Shaunie who is the office manager of the spa adventured out to look for ideas and to see what our city was missing. She came up with the idea of having a “One-stop shop”, instead of having to drive around to multiple locations for self-care needs. Putting our minds together we came up with what we thought women would love.

We wanted our spa to offer Multitudes of services such as massages, facials, body sculpting, teeth whitening, lashes, and other services an esthetician wanted to add.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road for us!

A lot of sleepless nights but that’s what makes entrepreneurship fun to me at least because I’m continually learning new things. I try to stay consistent and challenge myself every day. Being a new upcoming business owner comes with finding balance and reaching those small goals little by little which makes it all so worth it in the end.

Especially going through the process and struggles to construct a business plan that will last! I feel like the passion me and my mother have for the spa will only grow day by day and it will show!
