Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Merrill.
Hi Jasmine , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It all started when I became a single mom at the age of 19. I knew instantly that I had a greater mission on this earth that my children catapulted me into. Around 2017, I started a ministry called SMILE (Single Moms Inspiring Leading and Empowering), which landed me on stages of religious organizations, non-profit orgs, and other prominent women’s empowerment events. After attending a speaking seminar during that time, I inspired to create something tangible for the supporters of my audience – thus establishing my very first book. UNVEILED, was really the starting point of my writing journey. Writing became therapy for me and it was an outlet for me to not only do what fueled me, but allowed me to pour into others who needed inspiration and encouragement at the time. My writing and speaking career began to flourish in major ways, one of which allowed my written work to be featured both nationally and internationally. I was able to contribute to newspapers, magazines, online blogs, other authors’ books, and even found my way on a college campus stage speaking to upcoming college students. It wasn’t long after that when I started to become booked to teach business and publishing principles to small business owners and aspiring authors. As of today, I have personally written and self-published 10 books and have contributed written work to a half dozen others. I have expanded my knowledge and personally assisted over a dozen clients by helping them become self published authors. After the onset of COVID in 2020, my speaking and writing career slowed down quite a bit, which allowed me the chance to tap into what has always mattered most to me – loving on those around me. I became a wife and additionally birthed more children through marriage. And now that I have had a chance to pour into my family, I am now ready to jump back out there and pour into others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to success is never easy, but it is worth it. I have accomplished so much in a short matter of time, but the challenges faced in between could never be prepared for. When the world was faced with a challenging, uncertain and unfamiliar plague (covid), many were scared that they’d have to shut their business down. I was one of those people, but it became more about staying alive than anything. I also was stricken with covid, and had to quarantine from my family and shut my office doors down. During those uncertain times, many people had to take drastic financial measures to ensure that they had the resources and help needed to thrive. I knew that eventually I would be able to rise from that downfall, but ultimately due to financial hardship and lack of general clientele and interests I had to shut my publishing and consulting business down. And the aftermath of pausing projects, events being canceled, and contracts being voided caused my income and business to shipwreck.

The thing I am most proud of with my coaching and consulting business is that through all the downfalls and disappointments, my mission has still remained clear. I refuse to allow delays to cripple my purpose or taint my vision that I have for myself. I am building legacy for my kids, so that one day they can also explain what makes them most proud of Mommy.

I believe that every client that works with me and every business partner that hires me crossed my path for a reason.
