Exploring Life & Business with Jaime McAuliffe of Your Family Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime McAuliffe.

Hi Jaime, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I come from a chiropractic family, I’m actually 4th generation and have a family of 13 chiropractors dating back to my great-grandfather who graduated chiropractic school in 1923! Growing up, I thought everyone went to the chiropractor as it was a very routine part of my upbringing. I knew at an early age I would be a chiropractor, and now here I am. The profession of chiropractic is so unique in that there are hundreds of ways to practice and specialize. Early into my schooling I developed a passion for pregnancy and birth. I started reading about the unpleasant experiences women were having during such a sacred time, and knew that I could be a voice and the hands that could facilitate a much better experience so I went all in on perinatal education. I then become a board certified prenatal + pediatric chiropractor through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and am one of the 5 in my area including in the entire county.

After graduation, I worked in a family practice caring for lots of moms and babies until my husband and I decided to leave Dallas, Texas and move closer to home, where we opened our current practice, Your Family Chiropractic, in Lenexa. Not long into opening our practice I knew I was meant to serve women in another way, so I thought to myself “how can I get as close as I can to experiencing birth without having done it yet?” and I became a birth doula! Which if you’re not familiar is a support person in the birthing space advocating for the mom’s desires and providing a comfortable, safe, and sacred space for her to bring life into. So now I have clients who I not only care for via chiropractic care but also have the unique privilege of attending their birth, which is such a gift.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t necessarily say a smooth road, but now that I’m on the other side of 8 years of education and the start up phase of entrepreneurship, all the struggles and sacrifices have absolutely been worth what I have now. I love being a business owner, but it’s definitely not for everyone!

The education to become of chiropractor is long as I started with 4 years of an undergraduate program, and then almost 4 years of chiropractic school, plus an additional 200 hours for my prenatal + pediatric boards. But I knew going into it that it was going to be a long road, and the only way I was getting to my goal was by completing the required education.

As far as opening and running a business, it is by far the most challenging thing both my husband and I have ever done, but worth every single hard moment. This space of healing was designed by us, it is operated by us, and every day we get to do exactly what we love and enjoy.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Your Family Chiropractic, our mission is to help families experience true, lasting health by supporting the body’s natural ability to heal. While our care is for the whole family, we specialize in pregnancy, postpartum, and pediatrics. We focus on nervous system-centered chiropractic care because we know the nervous system is the foundation for how your body functions, adapts to stress, and maintains balance. Rather than just addressing symptoms or chasing temporary relief, we look deeper—to find the why behind discomfort, tension, or recurring health concerns. Our state of the art scanning technology provides us with objective information on how your body is adapting to stress, so that we can provide our practice members and their families with the appropriate care.

We are gentle, specific, and personalized. Whether someone is coming in during pregnancy, navigating postpartum recovery, bringing in a newborn for support after birth, or simply seeking to feel and function better—we tailor our approach to the unique needs of each individual and season of life.

What sets us apart is that we don’t just offer chiropractic adjustments—we take a truly holistic approach. That means having conversations about daily habits, reducing nervous system stress, and supporting families with practical tools to live healthier, more empowered lives. From the moment you walk in, our goal is to create a calm, welcoming space where you feel seen, heard, and confident in your care.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to simply be myself. In the world of holistic health, people are often searching for something they don’t even know exists. By staying true to what I believe and consistently showing up to share my story and our approach to care, I’ve been able to connect with families who are looking for exactly what we offer—even if they didn’t know it was possible before. It can be easy to get caught up in the noise or try to appeal to everyone, but I’ve found that the more I lean into authenticity, the more aligned our community becomes.

The second lesson has been just as transformative: learning to meet people exactly where they are. Not everyone is on the same timeline or has the same goals when it comes to health—and that’s okay. What I want for myself or my family might look different from someone else’s vision, and it’s not my role to judge or persuade. As a health professional, my job is to listen, support, and advocate for the choices each individual makes for their own body and life. That philosophy of honoring autonomy and offering compassionate, nonjudgmental care is what makes our practice truly unique.
