Exploring Life & Business with Isabel (Izzy) Polzin of Quite Perfect Hare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabel (Izzy) Polzin.

Isabel (Izzy) Polzin

Hi Isabel (Izzy), so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In theory, my story is quite simple. I love art, and hair is a canvas that everyone sees! Art has always been my escape from reality, a hobby. When I learned that I could channel my creativity through hair, it didn’t just become my career. It became my passion! I began to understand that a good haircut can change someone’s appearance, and a great haircut can change someone’s confidence. As time has gone on, I’ve learned that I don’t just have a passion for hair but for the people in my chair. There has always been a corner of the hair market that has been brutally ignored. It’s the part that sits directly between your success or failure. I have a true passion for hair, but my success comes from my clientele. Everyone knows what they want and how they want to feel about their hair. All I have to do is make your vision come true and make you shine! Everyone’s hair is like a blank canvas, something to shape and mold until you find the perfect fit. I love the excitement people find in their hair through my haircuts. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their skin, and why not start at the top with a great haircut?

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The path to success will always be bumpy, but that makes it worth it. I have had my fair share of challenges everyone has, and dwelling on them doesn’t change anything. It’s how you handle the challenges that help you succeed! Many people have told me I won’t make it as a stylist. I should be financially scared; the world doesn’t need more barbers. I should go to college where my future is more laid out. Even without people inserting their options in my life, COVID wiped out my career field for close to a year. Despite life’s obstacles, I don’t believe in giving up on my dreams. More people believe in me and want to see me succeed than those who want to see me fail. The support I receive is the reason I push myself to do better. I want to see my full potential.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Quite Perfect Hare, it’s just punny enough to make people giggle! I opened my studio with the simple idea of comfort. Haircuts can be an easy source of confidence if done correctly. My job as a business owner is to create a calm and inviting environment where people are relaxed enough to express their desired haircuts. And that’s exactly what I’ve done! Quite Perfect Hare is an intimate, inviting studio that has allowed me to open communication channels to cut your hair better! It’s important that everyone feels welcome and safe to get a haircut. Yes, haircuts are important to your appearance and a source of confidence, but they are also necessary. Hair will always grow and continuously needs to be cut. I aim to take this necessary experience and make it worth your time and money!

How do you define success?
I measure my success in the happiness I take from life. The everyday bliss of knowing I am doing my best is the reassurance I need to continue my dreams. Success is a never-ending climb, and if you don’t take the time to appreciate what you have accomplished, you will forget to acknowledge how far you have come. Quite Perfect Hare has grown so much in the short time the shop has been open. I am excited to see my business take stride as I dive deeper into my passion. The dream is to be ever-evolving, resulting in never-ending success.
