Exploring Life & Business with Haley Prophet Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Prophet.

Hi Haley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I have worked in a health, fitness, development, coaching, and well-being-related capacity for nearly 20 years. My bachelor’s degree is in Health Promotion, precisely aligned with where I spent my career. However, that journey is only sometimes what you expect. When I graduated with my degree (and many years after), I recall the need for more understanding of what this career path could and would mean. When I would share what I was going to school for, I would sometimes receive confused looks or disbelief that I could find and maintain work in this field. Not only did I after graduating, but I have continued to passionately pursue this industry that intersects with so many meaningful and highly impacting areas of work that are still yet to be accomplished. Don’t get me wrong, this journey to personal and professional achievement takes work and dedication. Ultimately, I am blessed to have an opportunity to intertwine my passions for work and life into the overall tapestry of life and empower others to do the same.

You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Nothing is always or ever perfect, and many times it may be nothing you had expected. But the obstacles that appear before us may be our greatest hurdles to overcome for a bigger purpose. As an individual, you need to be confident in what you are pursuing and stick to your path and vision. When you know the significant trajectory of your work and how it can leave a lasting impact on other individuals and workplaces, you dig deep into that commitment and stay with it. Through various challenges, set-back, missteps, and trauma over a lifetime, I do just that – dig in and stick with my commitment to better those around me – it fulfills a part of my purpose. My experience is unique, just as we all have unique career and life experiences. However, I frequently openly share examples of hurdles and successes with those in my network to embrace their unique journey and not rush to the destination.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In a time when talent competition and the ability for workplaces to attract and retain top talent is top of mind, how can employers set themselves apart for the current landscape while focusing on sustainable long-term methods? One approach that is a top contender for well-being is both the well-being of individuals that make up the business and the overall culture of well-being that the business sets. With topics such as burnout, stress, caregiving, mental health, and so much more at stake for all employees, workplaces can change the paradigm to increase employee health, happiness, productivity, and much more by prioritizing well-being. I help to identify the current culture of well-being that exists (or doesn’t) and lead organizational leaders to achieve their desired culture of well-being. Additionally, with personal experience from the HR business side for 18+ years, I leverage my expertise and authentic presence to facilitate meaningful, productive, and focused educational sessions and workshops to instill the business culture of well-being throughout the organization. Focusing on mindful, resilient, and thriving practices to increase retention, support high-performers, and impact camaraderie, engagement, and morale.

There is so much to focus on with workplace well-being and addressing the strategy that it is a disservice to any business when “wellness” is added to the task list of an existing role or team member who is likely already overwhelmed with other priorities. It is not valuing the provided resources, education, awareness, prioritization of influence on the culture, and much more than focusing on well-being in the workplace should be. This is where leaders can set themselves apart from competitors and other sought-after best places to work by acknowledging and emphasizing well-being at work.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Since I am a fairly transparent individual in both my personal and professional life, there is not a tremendous amount of information left to surprise many. I will say that it is all of life’s experiences that add up to making it a variety show to reflect on and smile about. A few highlights include living in Tucson, AZ, to work at a world-renowned wellness resort, bringing two amazing boys into the world in Tampa, FL as a Midwestern girl at heart, and being recognized as only the 2nd recipient of the HPER Hall of Honor award as a Health Promotion graduate from my alma mater, single-handedly delivering 11 puppies from my late Great Dane and I have an affinity for Christmas decorations that may be over the top. Talk about a surprising variety! But the array makes me unique and represents only a fraction of the puzzle pieces that make up my resilient, purposeful life when strung together.
