Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Steffen.
Hi Dani, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey with chiropractic at a young age playing sports. It kept me physically able to compete all the way through College. Holistic healthcare and chiropractic treatment was an active part of my family’s life growing up and helped myself along with my mom through all of her autoimmune conditions. After my mom passed (too soon), I had a deeper meaning to life. This was helping myself and others find the root cause of the disease or dysfunction to help them live their longest, fullest, happiest lives. After graduating, I practiced in Topeka for about four years and then bought a practice in Bonner Springs. By hosting an environment of acceptance, health, and wellness… The practice grew to include physical therapy, massage, Intergrative medicine/functional health, lactation consultant services, acupuncture, and physicals for those who participate in sports and the DOT.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing up I always thought I’d be an engineer or an architect because I was exceptional at math but my dad, a veterinarian, recommended I pursue healthcare. While in undergrad, I shadowed physical therapist, PAs, dentist, and even surgeons, but I did not find something that made the most sense for me. I’m a forward thinker and realizing that there were so many limitations to those providers and their scope of practice gave me second thoughts. It wasn’t until my mom passed away, when I visited back home and had my lifelong chiropractor, treat me. It was then when lightbulbs went off, and I felt like my calling was obvious.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Pure Movement Integrated Health Center ?
Our office is integrated with chiropractic, massage, physical therapy, lactation consultant services, acupuncture, dry needling, nutritional counseling, hormone evaluations, and an environment that is welcoming to all. I am most proud that everyone leaving feels excepted, heard, better, and apart of the idea that we are recognizing the root cause of their disease or dysfunction. I would classify myself as a mama bear and advocate for my patience to the fullest. Everyone in our office does so.
What matters most to you? Why?
That’s a hard question… I would say what matters to me in the most is health, family, and time. Our health is what allows us to have a quality of life that matters. Our family is what fills our cup and makes us feel loved. And time is the most invaluable aspect to our life, our goals, and relationships.
